- several server crashes a day (2-3 at least)
- disconnection issues (all players same time, also 2-3 times a day)
- I have sometimes CTD's; didn't ask others yet
so I think it might be an issue. As others have the same issue on the server I guess it is a common issue. But not that many as you have.
mabe ask in the bug section of the funcom forum. There you surely get better help than here.
Definitely something on your end. Check the error code of the BSOD, it may give you some clues
STOP talking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about any mods. The crashes are notnessesarily mod-related. It is an engine-problem. How do I know exactly about it? Well, easy way, the crashes (logfile!) occurs in vanilla game, too. Many of the problems are maybe non correct mod orders, alright, but not every time.
Now, to your problem:
I got exactly that problem too, random crashes at random locations. Funcom-community says to it:
1. verify your files (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I can't say that often enough)
2. system up to date (Important, some windows features can interfer with steam and the program itself, like firewall). Try exception in the firewall for conansandbox, launcher and battleeye. It may work. You have to give permission to battleeye because you play on an onlineserver. The same thing happens to Lost Ark players as well, because the stupid anti-cheat-system MAY detect your driver as faulty (totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ btw.) and then kick it right out of your system. Result: Unreal Engine D3D-Error.
Now MY own solutions.
1. DELETE following process: gamebarpresencewriter.exe
For anyone who don't know what this process do, google it with the solution "how to delete gamebarpresencewriter process". Don't worry about it, it isn't a critical windows process, it is just a gameoverlay like xbox-crap in windows.
2. Check after the crash you crashlog. It may tell you what "pak file" is corrupted. NOT VERIFY YOUR DATA VIA STEAM. Delete it. THEN verify to redownload it.
3. This one is important, so read carefully, because it fix it for me:
UNDERCLOCK your CPU (-10%). It sounds stupid, but this works. I can't say why it works, but since I underclock my cpu I get exactly ONE crash the last few weeks. And the crash occurs because my windows wanted to to an update (hello, I am ADMIN, you are not allowed to do updates without my permission?)
Try it, maybe it works for you.
the server you are playing on is obviously the one with Issues, not the game itself.
makes sense. The OP didn't mention in his entry post if he is also playing on an official online server, at least he said he's playing on an online server without mods. So it is relevant for him to know that others also encounter those problems on online servers.
The crashes of the server are now gone, but we have still {all at once) disconnects sometimes. Btw. as official servers are part of the game as a backend, as well as batlleyeye, the customer can summon alltogether as "game-relevant", and part of the game itself.
Lately I have figured that using Win+Control+Shift+B shortcut I can reset my graphics driver and I'm able to open Task Manager and close CE through that.
