I've seen mods they allow for additional locking with either keys or number combinations.

Not sure if official game includes locks as I only played offline or pve servers where they default to locked status.

If you're in a clan the vault unless you're high rank you won't be able to open, it's the only thing that I know of that has a default lock.

So if the intention is to stop people joining clan and filling inventory then leaving my guess would be to use a vault to do as much storage as possible.

Locking chests and doors is an option in PVP servers, the function isn't available in pve since no one can steal from you anyway, only clan members can open your chests, doors and everything else having an inventory :)
