I noticed something that fixes my stutters!!
this happened in single player tho.
i was trying to fix my stutters, and during it my internet was gone (for maybe ten minutes), and stutters were fixed.
The second internet came back, stutters came back too...
What is game doing with internet when im in single player mode?
Does tencent owns this game maybe?
Because the only thing i can see is, its trying to send data and breaking the game in the process

this does not seem to be the case for me, with or without 'offline mode' mod. i had high hopes.
do not let my one negative result prevent anyone from testing this fix themselves.

Do you have any P2P programs running, like Torrents?

So I had the stuttering/lag problem for a few days now. By watching task manager I saw the drive I had the game installed on was hitting 100% usage which cause the stuttering so I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it on a different drive and I seem to have rid myself of the issue.

very early on i looked at resource monitor and saw cpu, gpu and ram looked ok, but hdd and networking were spiking apparently in sync with the stuttering. when 'offline mode' mod was updated i tried that but no joy. with this thread i hoped i could unplug the cat5 but that did not work either. if not networking, then hdd it seems. but this is the only hdd i have installed.

Stuttering can be caused by networking bottlenecks, that's why I mentioned P2P as those can slow down data movement in the system. I'm really trying to wrap my head around this, as some people have the issue and others like myself do not. Even with similar systems.

The only other thing I can think of is not enough free space on the hdd or more likely they did something in the update that makes certain hdd dysfunctional?

i have plenty of space on my hdd. hdd speed may be involved, i have not looked, but i think i have read of people who have solid state drives having problems. my own suspicion is low upload bandwidth; for me 0.7mbps.

My game is running on a SSD and I'm also having stutters :steamsad:

They simply sсrew up the game with last update. End of story. https://forums.funcom.com/t/performance-issues-since-last-patch/153117/22

That could be it. Something they borked in the update affecting data transfer. It would explain why I'm not having any issues. 10.0Mbps upstream bandwidth.
Having too many mods can cause lag, as well and certain mods cause intense lag on their own. I've also noticed this game has a serious memory leak issue.

Best thing you can do to fix lag is install the game on an SSD, and frequently reboot.

It would be great if they would fix the issues so we don't have to uninstall and move on to other games.

When I tried single player today I checked task manager and I was getting about 20% memory usage, 15% cpu usage and less then 10% disk usage but the status kept saying not responding every time I was stuttering/lagging. I never has this problem prior to the January 6 patch. Combat is impossible but at least I can mine and chop wood every though it lags so bad.

Runs fine for me for a while ~20 minutes then becomes a stutter fest. Which is hilarious because my computer has had large upgrades since I started playing CE. Doubled the physical memory, upgraded from a R270 to a 1650 Super etc.

Having played Funcom games since Anarchy Online being a new release I'm not surprised though. I love that Funcom at least till now hasn't been politically correct and allows nudity, sexuality, thralls, etc. in their games but performance issues have been a constant come and go thing.

It's not terrible but it still stutters a bit for me as well. My rig is pretty good.

7700k/2080 Ti/32GB 3200 OC RAM/1TB m2 NVME SSD

My brother said it didn't stutter for him after update. He's 10900k/2080ti/32GB 3800 RAM (i think)/1TB m2 NVME SSD...

So I guess you need a 10900k and super fast ram to play this game stutter free. Which is probably what the devs used to develop it. So they tested and said "works fine" then released it.
