Maybe there needs to be a lost and found chest or pit? :P
Sometimes when you loot all on something without opening your inventory, it bugs your inventory on the client. That means that it will appear as though you don’t have those items but you really do. You need to relog to resync your client to the server and the items will appear.
The second issue is that sometimes when items drop, they clip through the floor on the client, making them seem to disappear. If this happens, you can solve it the same way, relog to sync with the server, or you can run outside of the area to unload the assets and run back. This will cause the items to reload from the server and appear on the ground.
The game is good and if this one thing can stop happening it would be better.
completely tore down buildings to find items that have done this... There was no bag or item to be found. It's happened many times now. Never find the items after moving things and tearing down buildings. At this point I consider it the lost and found penalty...some day they might magically appear who knows...It does it on both maps so it's a core game issue with the way the game handles inventory and items.
Thanks for your input you have been lucky so far I would say.
If you have your inventory and another container (body, chest, crafting station) open and the container looses focus (by clicking on your inventory or pressing tab), and they you press the space bar, your first inventory item will drop to the ground. If you clicked on an inventory item the selected item will drop.
For example, you are heading back to base with a load of stone and get ambushed by a skeleton. You right click to loot, accidentally click a 2nd time in your inventory, then press space to loot all. If you have your inventory sorted Heaviest First, your load of stone is now in a loot bag on the ground. You click the loot all button to
But it's inconsistent, though.
Especially when their are empty spaces at the bottom of the inventory and there is a stack lower down sucking up what you pick up. Sorting by heaviest will eliminate empty slots when there are items lower in the inventory problem.
That being said I have experienced things disappearing when I drag from one inventory to another. But for me they were just falling off the cursor and there was a bag on the ground when I notice i have done it to pick it up. I attributed it to my mouse wearing out because when I hold down on the mouse button harder it never happens. But maybe it is not my mouse.
Also when playing on a server that has not been restarted in several days, all bets are off. I have noticed weird inventory and thrall behaviors. But restarting the server has always fixed things when I have started to notice general instability.
