How did i expect a generic response such as this. This is not the issue here. Games are becoming exponentially bigger in size and a lot of the time it is for poor reasons such as the one that Zoekoff has stated.
All i need is 10 games at 100gb each to fill a 1tb which is not hard to do in 2021. A lot of the time it is because of poor infrastructure within the design of the game itself. Such as in this case dlc content on top of the vanilla game regardless of whether or not you own the dlc.
You know how most games handle this problem? you can only join servers with dlc if you own those dlc. Otherwise you can only play the base game and don't have to dl the dlc content just to play the base game.
dlc servers vs base/vanilla game servers this is how its always worked.
For two reasons one it eliminates over head for the end user and two it stops malicious people cracking the dlc and playing for free at the low level. Sure this is harder to do nowdays but basically this is what it is.

I think the previous guy had it right, you do need a bigger SSD. I have Conan and Conan TestLive along with around 100+ other Steam games, GTA, Diablo 3, Tom Clancy, A number of games on Epic, XBox pass, Origin, and all my other regular computer stuff saved on my drive and haven't even used 1 TB. Maybe look into modifying your computer or just don't play big games.
And for the record if you have purchased the dlc then would it really matter? It is a catch 22 in itself because who tf cares really about dlc if they do not own the dlc.
if you want dlc then get the dlc? big deal if a vanilla game can see the dlc or not? This is ♥♥♥♥ logic by the game dev imo. And only serves as a means to entice the player into buying in.
Yes i am just one that does not like bloat because its bloat is all. And likes to keep my drives optimal and as free as possible. Then to hear that the game adds dlc assets to the game even if you don't own the dlc bothers me.
I already have multiple games post 50gb and more storage isn't always the answer. Realistically we only have finite storage unless you wanna build a dedi tower or some nas or what ever.
My pc room is always a mess so why would a want to add more "solution" to it.
edit: Including the three I did buy, I just don't like anything they made as dlc options, and I do not use them even though I have them.
edit: These are of course my opions. Everyone is welcome to have their own, but not to expect that their opions will have any importantce or influence on mine.
