Meat Preservation Rack

Anyone have luck with this? Wiki says it runs on salt, so I put raw meat and salt in, but I'm unable to do anything with it, and it still goes rotten.

sounds like a decoration from a mod

the original is called dryer and runs on "bark" (use a pickaxe on a tree to get some)

Yes, I have that...it's probably just a deco, but I don't get why it would have slots to put stuff. Thanks :)

Maybe try putting some ice on it, just a guess. If it is from a mod, look at the mod description to see if there is anything or message the mod maker, maybe you can get some insight that way.

If it is the one I am thinking of, putting salt in it does not stop it from rotting, it just doubles how long it will last. So if it would spoil in ten minutes normally it will spoil in twenty instead as long as you have salt in the rack. Kind of neat really, gives you a bit of early preservation but still leaves a reason to build an ice box later.

The dryer is used to make dried foods which are less filling and provide less benefits than full meals or properly cooked food. However the meat and fish (not sure about non-meats) can be put into the meat preservation rack to double the lifespan of food. It's pretty much just a cheap, less effective version of a preservation box.
