Doesn't fill me with confidence that there's lots of articles about it being a virus, purposely flagging false positives to get you to pay for the premium version.
No, it's not a virus despite (much less a trojan) what others might claim it to be.
Windows 10 isn't perfect by a long shot. AV software is problematic depending on what you use.
But, what's important is finding something you can trust that can actually repair any damaged Windows files. The main thing is the utility has to scan for issues with Windows and Apps (including 3rd party apps such as Conan Exiles), plus a lot of other important things you might not be aware of.
Some AV software will indeed flag it although Windows Defender does not. (something to think about). I stopped with other AV software a long time ago, deferring to Windows Security Essentials with Windows 7 Pro until I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro which included Windows Defender. Nothing gets through unless I'm being stupid and let something in.
I subscribed to it a full year in advance and it's been more reliable than the iolo System Mechanic. (which supposedly is top notch in it's own right).
Sure, it's not free but it's modestly priced and a good service. (At least for me it has been.)
With a BSOD, I'd be haunting the Windows 10 Support Forums for answers. You might find something relevant and useful.
Nope. My PC is fine. As I stated, it's only Conan Exiles that does this. I run far more demanding games with absolutely zero issues and never BSOD once up until playing Exiles, which BSOD 4 times in one week.
If Conan Exiles does this, then it would do it on my PC as well and I am not getting any BSOD and I have a weaker PC than yours (less RAM). If it was a common issue, it would be all over the forums but there are only some isolated reports about it which means that most likely the problem is at your end rather than with the game. Hope you find what causes it.
If you do a quick Google Search of "Conan Exiles BSOD" you'll find loads of reports on Funcom Forums, Reddit and Steam. It's not just me. My hardware is fine and I know it's fine. If it was my hardware, surely this would happen on other games too?

Often no, still is probably hardware related. Games, or particular games, have a way of revealing specific issues you didn't know you had.
Tried those two fixes, nothing happened
It seems it's Exiles that's pointing out random BSODs and I've followed steps to fix them as best I can and I haven't seen that specific issue again. I swear this game is just a BSOD detector.
conan runs hot i have noticed on my rig when playing most games my cpu doesnt break 40C while playing conan i get around 50-55c.
90% of BSODs are on the users side either registry errors driver issues or hardware... my guess is its one of those i would start by blowing out your video card drivers and doing a fresh install of those possibly a fresh install of windows might be in order(this should be done every year at the minimum)
I'm not in denial over my PC having issues. I simply know it isn't as I've followed every guide, installed every driver etc and there's always something with Exiles, other games never and I mean NEVER did anything remotely like this. So I guess I kind of am blaming them, especially when many many other people have reported the same issues as me.
My hardware is fine outright. It is. It doesn't struggle, it's installed perfectly fine, all up to date.
GPU Temps go from 35C (idle) to 52C (running game at max settings) so it's not my GPU overheating (I've never seen it go over 80C
As for power usage, It's definitely not my PSU running out of power to give it. It's a 850W Gold supply (which I bought because I thought my old 650 was giving me issues) so I have a massive wattage pool my PC can draw from.
I honestly don't believe it's my hardware, as I've stated, I've ran FAR more demanding things than Conan Exiles and my PC is entirely fine with it and has not once even strained or coughed with whatever I've put it through.
I'm still thoroughly confused as to why Exiles is the only game to ever BSOD my PC, and Exiles isn't even that hard to run whatsoever...
