Tier 2 Tanner's Table recipes?
I'm trying to make Thick Hide from hide and twine but the wiki says its a tier 2 recipe. How do I unlock higher tier recipes at the station? Do I just need a better thrall?

That sounds like a tier four armourer recipe, just speculation but if tier three or lower does not offer it then you'll probably need a unique thrall.

I'd suggest just hunting rhino's, they are pretty easy to kill, even more so if you have a mount, skin them for thick hide and rhino hide, rhino hide can be stripped to create more thick hide or tanned directly to make heavy leather.

There are several other enemies that can be skinned for thick hide, including bear, sabre cats, elephants or mammoths probably some others i am forgetting, but in my opinion rhino is the easiest to kill.

If I recall you can only make regular hide from thick hide, not the other way around. Just unlocking tannery lets you build the tanners table which has fiber-twine recipe.

Yes you can, you need t4 armorer assigned to the workbench, though. The recipe uses regular hide and twine to make thick hide. Also, I think you need to have a specific specialization (I might be thinking of a different workbench) for it to show up. Not playing the game right now, so I can't say for sure.

With the new Tanner's Workbench, if you use an armorer as the crafter, the bench gives you the recipe for 'Stitch'. That is the regular hides and twine to make thick hide. Obviously, thick hide gives you thick leather. You do not need a T4 either, it is available with a T1 armorer. The recipe is not available with a Tanner on the bench (only tried up to a Tanner T3, haven't tried a T4 yet), only with an armorer.

Seems odd, I know, but I just logged on and tried it, besides offering the Stitch recipe the T1 Armorer on the Tanner's Workbench also offers making Silk from gossamer, which isn't offered by a Tanner at the workstation.
