Change World Boss Chest Loot?
Hey all,

I was just wondering if there were some tools out there (other than diving into the dev kit itself) to change up what spawns in the world boss loot chests?

I know Ark had some player made tools to change up the loot tables for the drop beacon things. Was hoping there was something similar (or just editing the ini file) for Conan and the world boss chests, but I've not been able to find anything.

Reason:
Me and the lady were thinking about starting our own server with a friend or two. We've only played a little bit and use mods. I feel like the weapons you get from world bosses outclass everything else a bit too much. I'd rather have to craft weapons and work for materials to make good gear instead of just looting it out of a chest.

I saw a mod that just removed the weapons from the game, making the chests empty, but I'd still like there to be a reason to actually fight the bosses. So if you know of some mods that make it such a way, I could also look into that.

O.o

"I feel like the weapons you get from world bosses outclass everything else a bit too much. I'd rather have to craft weapons ..."

feels like I'm playing a different game... ;-)
Are you both level 60, do you by chance have set the Damage you do set up to some 2x or even higher? Bosses are only meant to be beaten by high level players with high level gear.
Do you have got the Dragon recipe already? In which material state are you?

Because for me, our crafted Dragon weapons outclass any Legendary we get, besides they have a special effect, like giving you some +5 something (str, vit or enc) we just put them in our Box full of "old things"...
Example: Dragon big sword: 67 damage, Legs mostly just 57 with some very rare exceptions.

Also to repair these legendary weapons you need legendary repair kits which cannot be crafted besides you use a Mod. (or is there a SPECIFIC thrall who can, because my T4 can't)
These Kits can only be obtained in the forbitten city

(funny thing: there is another topic where someone says the complete opposite, that world bosses loot is too bad for all the hassle to kill them...)

but back to OT, I know of only one Mod that make the Boss loot different, but thats just getting you MORE legendary things.

Well, we call it mods here. I can help you creating a new mod or maybe using my mod

And yes, as rucky said dragon weapons are overall better than legendaries.

I'm at 58 now and she's like 56 or something, so close. And I'll admit, there's a ton about the game I don't know yet, which is why I was hesitant to even ask about this in the first place.

I think where we screwed up was getting a mod that made bosses "solo/small team" friendly.

I do have the damage turned up some, but I also have damage received turned up as well to match. I just wanted fights to be a little quicker for both parties instead of just smacking each other with swords over and over. That part worked out great.

I also realized a mod I had that let us level up higher than normal also lets you open those world boss chests at whatever level. So what happened was, we found a world boss early on, actually manage to kill it (mostly because he glitched out and got stuck), and got his weapon. Of course it was miles better than anything we had at the moment. Even now, it's still better than everything else I have.

But it also sounds like there's a good bit of recipes to find out there instead of just what's in your skill tree. So that's pretty neato.

So really it sounds like I need to remove the mod that lets you open those chests at any level. So what do you do with world bosses until you're 60? Just ignore them?

All in all, sounds like I borked my play experience a bit. Might be time to hit the old restart button and change a few things

Well, I called them "tools" because there was an actual tool you could download to pick and choose your loot for the beacons. If memory serves, it kicked out a text file you dropped in your folder for the server to look at. I reckon the end result is a mod one way or the other though.

Also, big thanks for the offer to help with mods, but I think I'm going to hold off on that for now. It's sounding like a new more play time before I go and start dismantling everything with mod making.

Yes, Bosses are meant to be hard, and should be hard for you two working together too, including you max leveled and attributes well spend.

This being said, it's fair to make a bit damage in and out balancing ;-)
but when you upped your in-damage (taken-damage) how do you managed to survive Bosses not even at Level 60?? (which means you DON'T have even Epic Armor).
Even at 1.0 Damage taken some World bosses will shred you apart with just 2-3 swings.

I have Damage taken set to 0.85 and there is that Rotbarsch Boss near my "Temp Camp" in the Nord I have to take 3-6 tranks depending on how good I make that revers flash roll when he tries to get me. And I do have a full EPIC HEAVY armor on.

In a 2-Player Coop you still should not make your Damage-out Multiplier higher than 2.0 (1.5 or even lower like 1.3 is way enough for SP or 2-Coop), therefore you will see some progression when you advance in your tech and hard enemies at lower level will get really trivial at higher level, but you will never be too much outclassed when you advance at your level speed.

For a small Coop you can take a Mod with increase your max Level to get more Attribute and Feat points, or get PIPPI thats always a good Server Admin program where you can make some "KITs" where you can buy some points f.e. ;-)

Legendaries are more for the "Collector" out there, but not think there aren't some very good Legendaries to be found, they are! But 95% is "trash", compared to Dragon Weapons crafted with a T4 Thrall or other ones. There are even better Recipes to get, though these are even harder to obtain. What you see in your Crafting list is only that part you can do without finding all these juicy recipes out there, and there's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to be found! ;-)

happy hunting!

How did I survive? Lots of dodging lol. I guess the Dark Souls experience paid off. But yeah, if they ever landed a hit it was 100% game over for me.

There were also several moments that went like:

"I'll just block this attack"

-splat-

"Alright, guess you CAN'T block that attack"

I also have Pippi. Came in handy a few times, but I don't know (yet) how to do the more fancy stuff like making your own NPC vendors and stuff. I did mess around with the portals a little though, that was pretty fun.
