New to game, playing on Isle of Siptah

My friend and I decided to play Conan Exiles after we saw Isle of Siptah vids on YT. Started on the desolate beach or w/e. Had a few questions:

Where do we get thick leather? We are almost level 60 but our gear is lagging behind because we can't find anything to turn into thick leather.

What does the Sigil of the Snake do? We made it through the elder vault, got that as a reward. I popped it, got the achievement 'Memory', but have no idea what it did.

Where can we find False Mandrake? I really want some purple dye!

Other than that, really digging this game! Graphics are fantastic, combat's fun, and the building beats the heck out of Fallout 4 / 76!

Not sure about the others quite yet but there are Rhinos on the map that I've seen and they're a great source of thick hide.

i havent gone too far in the new map. but if you are already lvl 60, you should be able to roam and explore around.
thick leather comes from big animal like elephant, rhino, etc.

so, perhaps in savana, forest, or jungle if there is one in the isle?
i also haven't read/watch that many of footage, since i don't want to get spoil and make the exploration less fun.

sorry can't gave you an answer. but i just want to say. if you like conan and pve aspect of it.
you might want to play the original map with your friends, since from the look of it.
there are more things to explore in the 1st map.

there are also many mods that enhance the experience and add content to it.

Rhinos, Mammoths, roam the area around the Tower in da middle.

lynx are also a decent source they give feline pelt (normal leather) and thick hide (thick leather)

The blue eyed boss deer also give thick hide.

Where do we get thick leather?
You can use a skinning knife to get Thick Hide from animals like rhinos, bison, elephants, and lynx. Put that in a tannery with Bark and you'll end up with Tar and Thick Leather.

What does the Sigil of the Snake do?
I know that when you learn a Sigil, it unveils the Sigils section on the Stats page. There are symbols for each Sigil you can acquire, and the ones you learned are lit on that page. I don't know what benefit comes from this yet.

Where can we find False Mandrake?
