1) Turned off Steam overlay
2) Turned off Windows "Real Time" Virus Protection
3) In Firewall allowances, I noticed for some reason that CONAN EXILES was the ONLY program that didn't have both "Private" and "Public" checked off; it only had "Public", so I checked off "Private".
I will return if it stops working, otherwise, give it a shot. I think #3 seems particularly suspect given that, again, it was literally the ONLY program that didn't have both slots checked.

My connection was lost, and then it started giving me the exact same "Failed to join requested game" message.
Sorry if I wasn't clear about that. Yes, I can join OFFLINE, single player. I was doing that for a couple of days to build up understanding of the mechanics before joining pvp. So this is a huge bummer for me, because I'm well past my 2 hours return window.
But what about an online server not protected by battleeye, or a non official server? Just trying to see if there is some sort of connection that can be narrowed down.
Okay, good thought. I haven't tried a non official server. Be right back.
UPDATE: So far the only Vac-disabled servers I've found have required passwords to join.
One thing I haven't tried yet is uninstalling battleye and then reinstalling it. Going to try that now.
You can try finding a server via Steam instead. View -> Servers -> Filter to Conan Exiles as your game. I don't think it will tell you if something has battleeye on it or not though.
Maybe try a direct connection to your modem, as in bypass your router. See if that makes any difference, if it does then maybe a router issue. I doubt it, but there is obviously something going on, I just have no clue what. While this problem does indeed seem to be reported a decent amount, it's not a huge widely reported issue since there are, and have been, thousands of players playing accross hundreds of servers of various types and providers.
Check to see if you have any packet loss maybe too? Maybe there is a connection disruption and Conan Exiles times out when there is packet loss (again, I have no idea, I'm just throwing crap on the wall to see what sticks).
UPDATE: So far so good. I've crafted armor, checked out a couple of player-made bases, etc.
SO, it looks as if running steam as an adminstrator, uninstalling and reinstalling BE, is what did the trick, as I was able to log into a heavily populated official PVP server, create a character, build a fully enclosed base and play for about 30 minutes. I wasn't logged out or anything, I just quit because I have kids, etc. I had tried both "running as admin", and "Uninstalling/reinstalling BE" before, but SEPARATELY. So I think the key, here, is to do both; first log in as admin, and then uninstall/reinstall BE. I hope that works for the rest of you.
Cool. Hope it sticks and doesn't come back!
I tried so many things, and some made it almost work. but this was the only one that solved that issue for me. the game would load up fine, but upon trying to join any servers (all types) it would say "failed to join requested server" or "lost network connection". thank you very much!
