Good idea man. I always liked Arabians.
2 reasons..
1)mounts meant only for fast transport... Simple scripting and animations.
2) if any other animal is used there would be a need for more advanced scripting for mount attacks ie elephant trunk swings or trampling, tiger mauling and leaping, wolf leaping and mauling, etc you get the picture.. basicly any abilites the animals have for knocking players down they would need to keep and thats more work then the devs are willing to put into it..
I don't know about the rest of you, I feel it is kind of comedically embarrassing, kind of like the D&D game that you play where the DM is a pre teen that gives you a platinum dragon mount at level 5, and you are like, ummm, I have some yard work to do, we can play later,...that kind of cringy.
Tigers and wolves not so much, their spines aren't designed for that.
To be fair tho, the AOC tiger mounts were much larger compared to the Exiles tigers (going by character model sizes). If they added those in later, they would surely have to be size adjusted a bit. Or you would ride them very differently (like laying across/"humping" their backs to distribute weight).
Always wanted to ride one with a darfari armor on.
They also stated its moddable so modders will be able to add different animals if they have the animation.

The recap is mostly about the horses, but also about the thrall changes I think. There are also combat changes.
This feels like a huge change to how the game will be played.
I like to play with a mod that allows three followers. Since the horse counts as a follower, you would need to have that mod if you also want a thrall and your horse with you.
