EDIT: aaaaand it's back to not working again...
If so, have you tried hopping into single player for a couple of minutes, than trying to join your server?
Ah sorry, I skimmed through your post a bit fast. Usually the only time I see that particular error come up is when it's related to mods and loading times.
Only other suggestion I have is to try the Admin United Discord (link here)[discordapp.com], or try contacting Nitrado since it's specific to your server.
This is as opposed to other servers where it takes me all of 5 seconds to get in a game. Desperately looking for a fix or I'll just have to bail on Nitrado.
I think at this point, I'm going to get a refund on the few months I have left on the server, shut it down, and go find a different host. I haven't had any issues with Nitrado until the OP in this thread, but obviously once you do have an issue, it's clear that their support is trash. Not sure it's really worth the headache.
I would try asking on the Admin United Discord on which server providers have updated things correctly to be compliant with the latest versions of Conan. Obviously the last major patch made things complicated, and for a while there things were pretty hit and miss. But for the most part, a lot of it has stabilized, with several of the 3rd party renters out there doing okay or fine now.
I don't keep track of which server providers seem to be working the most though, I just peek in on that discord every so often to check for mod related questions.
This sounds like excellent advice, do you happen to have a link that I can join from?
@Devias, yes this definitely seems like it could be an issue stemming from the Live Services thing that was added in late last month. I also tend to agree that it seems to be some sort of way to ditch Steam, or at least to make it gel a bit better with the game as it's offered on different platforms (like Epic). Not sure that's the case, but you definitely make a convincing argument, lol.
I previously linked it on your thread. On June 26th.
As far as "ditching Steam," no Conan Exiles isn't leaving Steam. That's just people pushing conspiracy theories. Yes, the Live Services is at least partially meant for the (now) future release on the Epic Store so that people on Epic and people on Steam can play together.
Sorry, forgot to post an update to this yesterday morning. Here's a support ticket response I received from them, FINALLY:
=====
Hello,
First of all, I apologize for the long processing time.
We would like to give you an update on the current situation at Conan Exiles.
Currently, there is still the problem that when you log in to the server, it
crashes or you get the message "Authentication failed".
Unfortunately, this is due to a problem with the session server of the
developer of the game, which rejects the connection.
We are in close contact with the developer Funcom to help them solve this
problem.
As soon as a bugfix update comes from the developer, we will integrate it
directly into our system. Unfortunately we ask for your understanding that we
cannot offer any compensation due to the difficulty.
The reason is that the difficulty could not be prevented by us and currently
cannot be solved by us.
We are dependent on the developer to solve the problem.
We can recommend you to change your server to another game. You can install up
to 5 games in total on your server. You can use the runtime of the server for
another game.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sooooo... yeah. I'm glad they finally got back to me, and it's nice to have some sort of explanation as to what's going on here. The time it took to receive a response though, was just shy of two weeks, which is ridiculous. To anyone else who's curious though, I've had this server for 3 months, and unlike what @Chadisko alludes to above, I've had no issues with my Nitrado server at all, with the exception of their obvious lack of a proper support team.
