Volatile glands from Salamanders

I've seen it happen in a youtube video and I've confirmed in the game files that it is possible (50% likelihood), but for the life of me I can't seem to harvest it. Have any of you done it? What tool did you use to harvest it?

Salamanders? I have yet to see anything resembling a salamander but the giant iguanas in the jungle drop will drop at least 3 per lizard, and I dont think the type of tool matters.

Type of tool matters alright, just the fact you would give him false info gives me a sesne you shouldnt be giving info at ALLLLL

I have ran through the jungle multiple times now and have harvested the iguanas with mutliple kinds of tools and ALWAYS got 3 glands. Go try it yourself.

This is weird, because I've tried pic, hatchet, cleaver and skinning knife and not got one gland. Killed about 10 iguanas (called Salamanders in game files)

I got some today using both pick and hatchet. The ones that drop those are pinkish red ones.

Do you perhaps recall where they spawned? Perhaps I'm hunting in the wrong area.

try a skinning knife

Works fine for me on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ standard server, starmetal skinning knife, 3-6 glands per harvest, sometimes 15+ total per kill

Are you saying that the salamanders look pinkish? I'm also assuming everyone know I'm NOT talking about the imps, where the reddish imp explodes if you don't kill him. I've never seen a pinkish salamander. Can someone please indicate the nearest map marker to where they spawn?
