Coal and Brimstone in the East
I checked the resource map but the East is not mapped yet. I explored almost half the jungle and didn't find a single node of coal, nor any source of brimstone.

Just wondering if I'm wasting my time, I could just go back to the desert and gather some.

I have found coal in the swamp. South, not that far east near the spiders den.

brimstone can be found in the jungle too. You have to look under water.

Just made a quick google and a lot of players claim they found brimstone under the water. I never thought about looking there so time for some more mapping.

Brimstone is found in the desert past the Unamed City in the salt lakes. There are large pillars that you mine with a pick. After the pillar falls keep mining bc it’s just animation. There’s still brimstone there. Also you need a sandstorm mask for the fumes otherwise you’ll die.

That's the West not the East ^^. East is the jungle to the right with the forgotten city.

How do you harvest that underwater brimstone? you pick up those small yellow stones near geysers? cause i cant hit anything underwater almost any time, even if i have enough stamina. looks like my pick doesnt hit right spot, or even hits to high. pressing E only gives you 1.

I know that. I'm just also providing other information since there is hardly any brimstone in the East... you'll have to travel to the West if you want any amount of brimstone

There's some brimstone in cave called Executioners something. It's not in the jungle but close enough. Prepare to fight lots of spiders if you go there.

Yeah I know that one, that's where I went when I had a base in the desert.

But there is plenty of Brimstone around the underwater geysers to the east so that's cool.

Actually, it's quite good amount of brimstone in the swamp. Swamp not fully mapped yet so even more will probably be found. Only thing that you can't get large amount of is coal.

Swamp is a fun place to have a base in, you can find all resources you need. It all boils down to what type of game play you are looking for.

You can see a marker for the Brimstone Geysers, hand collectible just like sticks would be.

There is easy coal, a nice concentrated supply, if you look on the map for the bedroll, close to the Geysers. The bottom of that bedroll icon, just around there.

Most easily got too by taking the path up from the river, do the U-bend, but instead of turning right through the cliff valley path, carry on around at the same height, staying river side. You'll find a huge batch of coal and Ironstone there.
