Returning Player - What's the current meta?
Hello fellow meat bags,

Looking to get back into Conan Exiles for some casual play and was just browsing the forums for some insight into the current state of the game (technical issues aside, to some degree). Can anyone tell me what the current PvP and PvE meta is, respectably? I'd like to play with some weapons I personally really enjoy, and some armor sets that I favor the look of, but don't want to adopt a really poor build that will just lend me a bad experience against other players regardless of my skill. Anything I should consider, or stay away from? I've read very few posts that seem to emphasise the power of horses, and the uselessness of light and medium armor. Is this true given the new roll/dodge mechanics? Is there some way to circumvent this if I wanted to play a different way? Are horses essential to PvP now? Is there a way to counter them? Any other tips or suggestions are welcome.

Please share your insight. I would greatly appreciate it.

Goodness, I've noticed! Hard life actually playing when you can't even connect, huh?

Devs are scrambling to fix this one. A previous update turned the Conan Exiles world upside down. The forums both here and official have exploded.

McDonalds staff would do a better job fixing this than FailCom.
Releases a broken patch, releases a hotfix to fix the broken patch, then releases a hotfix to fix the first hotfix and its still broken.

Solo - early spears. Then 1h+shield. Are op as allways. Maces - axes against any npc are good enough. Swords are trash as usual. Expect 2h.
Team - what you want
Bosses are nerfed - thrall + you (or your friends) are easy af.

current meta is "wait for patch, play something else, and occasionally curse funcom on forums"

People don't really know what the current meta is because they got too used to their thralls doing all the work for them.

Thank you for these suggestions. Helpful enough!
I've always enjoyed spears, though I've also really enjoyed daggers. Will definitely experiment, but it's good to get some outside input.

I haven't played since the new update. Prior to that the pvp meta was fairly varied with alot of weapon setups viable.

Horses were a big part of pvp before last patch but I heard they got nerfed somehow?

There is a meta bow build also that can utterly destroy people if the server has auto lock on target. Also using bestial claws with auto lock is easy mode.

For pve you just run around on a horse+thrall and murder everything. Pretty sure that even with the new update this would still be the best option. If you fight bosses on a horse, they basically cant even hit you if you circle around the boss while landing spear hits.
