Armor - Why ever use Med or Light?

The deeper into endgame I get, the more I'm trying to justify the existence of Medium and Light armor. Under the current set up, with players taking magnitudes more damage than thralls (buff players instead of nerfing thralls, Funcom), I'm not seeing any benefit, or purpose, to anything that isn't Heavy armor.

As of June 2020, is there any reason, at endgame, to wear anything but Heavy unless you're harvesting?

I never made it to endgame before the combat changes, but I do recall something about that now. Seems like they just can't figure out how to properly balance stuff.

in pvp med and light are crucial for certain builds dunno what mode your questions is for, other modes why go for them when you get more armour....

Some new players complained about dodging so they "fixed it"
(new players always like to open their mouth before they actually learn the game)
and made dodging useless pretty much

With horses now days too all armors are useless except heavy

You will see some good pvpers meme'ing with light armor here and there but seriously its pointless in real application.

The idea was that light armor would allow you to dodge further and more often while heavy armor just the shoulder tuck that is dodging today.

Agility still (not very much anymore though) allows you to recover from rolls quicker meaning you can react faster and faster animation.

Today you need VIT / Str or VIT/ Acc if you are a horse archer

In reality you get a mix with better gear cause of the higher stat bonuses from better unique items and buffs from stuff like fish.

But you are not likely at that point yet so VIT / (main weapon) don't forget your horse.

in the early stages while you develop you cant carry heavy armour and anything else so light armour is all you have then

I used to love running around in medium armor back before they "fixed" dodge. Now I look like a drunk person slowly falling over then rolling on the ground when dodging. So yeah, I'm in the heavy armor is the only armor worth having anymore camp.

When I left the game a while back I was very much into medium armour with dodging. This sounds like a completely different game now.

Yea medium armor use to be like the meta.
Light armor was decent and heavy was considered the useless armor.
