Why turn everything to easy mode?
I know each server can have its own rules, but it seems like all people want is fall damage off, temperature effects offf, fast xp, fast resources, etc.

Why play then? I dont get it.

Hyboria is a harsh place, life isnt supposed to be easy, how do you get any sense of accomplishment if there is no risk?

Because in survival games there is no difficulty. There is just test of patience and resilience.

i agree arch. The game is much more fun without easy mode on. But the same point can be raised for the general way people play Conan;
It's all about building and retreating inside what people have built. Raids are frowned upon by many and generally people are hostile towards pvp play once they have put in the time to build up what they own. A weird catch-22 present in many survival pvp games.

Go cross a 500m x 500m Overheating zone. Level 35, at the end of the sprint you are 75% health and half water. You can't do anything in there, you can't kill anything, so what is the point of it's existence? May as well not spawn nodes or animals as nothing would be able to live there anyway. There is less than 100 seconds to survive in it.

Have you actually seen these or are you assuming it's not improtant because you haven't actually witnessed a hotspot?

Because not everyone has unlimited time on their hands. I just want to be able to build a base at a decent pace.

You have to take more than 1 water skin, and again, its all up to you, risk vs reward, if there is no reward in there, then yeah, why go in, but if there is reward in there, is it worth the risk?

That's what makes games memorable, risk vs reward.

I agree, the new expansion is great but for those of us who enjoy a long strategy game the expansion has turned us off to playing it.

The nice thing is you can set your options on your own server if you want one, but would be nice to see some hardcore official servers where risk vs reward really comes into play

I agree with this...My biggist issue is the new items they added the tier 3 building and the hardened steel and meter ore all needed black ice to make it and black ice so stupid to make or gather its too grindy with like no reward for it.

They should have went in a diffrent direction and the weather system little too harsh they should just make it less as harsh other then that i do like the weather systems its kinda neat make building a home feel more cozy like sadly alot of the wall blazors and blazors dont give off heat maybe a bug.

But over all they need to make alot of adjustments and rework the black ice system to be diffrent its not fun and not worth making the new tier 3 stuff and the new gear all needs black ice and its just not worth it in 2 hours all i got was like 3 pieces of black ice from the amount of effort it too to farm that stuff and thats with resource multiplayer at x5 instead of the default x1....=(

Because dying to imps every 10 seconds to imps in starter areas is a little extreme.

Game too difficult? I disagree.

Sandstorms still are nonlethal eye candy. After 8 months in , one of the very basic main features of the hype campaign still is not working.

Harsh unforgiving world my ass.

And btw: maybe unforgiving and hardcore if you count server lag, bugs and glitches which get you killed. But that has nothing to do with a game being difficult. It is just amateur devs at work.

While I agree that there are some issues, and that the game seems to be on Easy mode for the most part, please never call Devs amateurs unless you can point to your completed project you were paid to create.

They are paid professionals, you may not agree with their decisions, and you may feel the bugs/crashes should be easy to correct, but till you can point to your own work that does it better, or hell, even a game that does the same thing and doesn't have these bugs, be nice.

Speaking of sandstorms ... north of the river it will damage you now especially when you see that sandstorm icon popup on your screen (same place where the shelter icon kicks in).
That is what I experienced this time around. Yes, I lost health during that segment and fortunately for me I had a tiny bit of shelter next to the base of a sheer rock face. I lost 45% of my health by the time the sandstorm had finally passed.
I've encounted three more sand storms in the main river area, but I didn't stand around to find out if I took damage again. I went into my shelter.

Bugs happen and they do their best to fix them. This game is only a few months old. Do you know how long it takes to make a AAA title? On the average at least 5 years.

If you guys play the game like it's supposed to be played, then you can cross the entire map without taking a shred of heat or cold damage.
Brew your hot and cold drinks and wear the correct armor for each zone.

Seriously this isn't wow.
