How come almost everyone is female in this game?

Whenever I come across another player character, the overwhelming majority of them are female. Are there many female players, or are most female characters just dudes who for one reason or another enjoy playing as females?

That's a mystery I don't even want to think too much about.
It often becomes a very heated debate over gender selections.
Some say it's about that third person view and preferring to look at a female butt instead of their own.
I've played female characters before .. and to be frankly honest about it .. it made me feel uncomfortable.

Believe it or not but most of the female charecters you see in the game are guys in IRL and most of the male charecters are Females IRL. I'm a guy and my char is a female. I'm not homophobic or anything its just i dont want to look at a naked guys junk swinging back in forth all the time while im playing this game. Alot of women probely feel the same towards naked females. Call it sexual prefrence if you want. humans want to look at what there attracted too. not the opposite.

Not everyone in this world is like you. you know! Does it really matter much to you what kind of character other people play in a roleplaying computer game? Is that something you concern yourself about? Because it is solely personal preferences that cant be discussed or debated. There is no right or wrong or black or white. It is pretty much to each their own and each will choose what ever they want. Maybe should stop concern so much about what others do and concentrate on what you want?

Its a digital world, you can be what ever you want to be. My icon is my toon from another game I play. She is a lycanthrop and carries the marks of cursed blood the werewolves forced her ancestors to drink. The girls got the cute ears and claws, the boys got the teath, leathery ears, and hunched backs.

butts and female features for 3rd person view (since you almost always see your char from behind) + i think female have sometimes a more elegant posture than males.
I'm a guy and i play female almost all the time except when i want a more immersive game or when i'm in "destroyer mode" (which is rare).

I think one of the great thing about gaming and any roleplaying in the broadest sense--where you are "playing" a character who is a different person than yourself--firectional or otherwise--is that there are any number of reasons for making any choice of character customization. It's interesting that although there may be trends or generalities, it's ultimately a case-by-case situation for why someone chose to make their character a certain way. Take something simple like hair style. A person might choose long hair because they always wear long hair in real life and they want their character to have it too--OR they may choose long hair because they would never have long hair in real life (perhaps it's too warm for them), but they like the escapism of "trying it out" OR they could choose long hair because they would never wear it personally nor identify with that style, but they find it more pleasing to look at. Both imagining yourself as a character and identifying with them (even if only partially) OR making a character look a certain way because you think it's more interesting thematically OR picking character aesthetics that are more pleasing to you based on your sexual or aesthetic preferences--these are all valid, and it's a pretty excellent thing that games facilitate all of these reasons. As long as their is nothing sinister/evil about it (and I don't think their usually is), I don't think any of the above reasons are invalid or wrong or ignoble. Enjoy making your character anyway you want for pretty much any reason you want without feeling weird/bad about it. Keep on Conan-ing, you bunch of winners! :)
