Frozen North healing items?
Made my way up north when I was level 10. Now I'm level 27, and boy-oh-boy the NPCs are insane. And as far as I can tell, there's no ruddy aloe vera, so I can't patch up my bleeding arse.

Are there any healing items at all, in the north?

In the areas with green stuff, there is aloe. There are bandages, which do the same thing, in chests and on NPCs (plus the advanced bandage skill you can learn).

You can always throw up a Mitra altar and make your own, even w/o a priest.

The problem with ambrosia, is that the NPCs are too ruddy hard. They're tier 3 or 4 up here. Haven't seen any aloe up in the north, and I've run all the way from east-west of it.
You should start making bandages

Bandages require aloe leaves. And there's none of those up in the northern parts

yeah that bandage guy doesn't know what he's talking about. run half the map for aloe? really? no, your best bet is mithra healing items from dead bodies of thralls.

And the thralls in the north are unbelievably hard. They're the reason I need healing items in the first place.

I suspect that bandages aren't meant to have aloe leaves, as that would be quite daft.

use a jousting technique and they won't damage you. your other option is to use a shield, wait for 2 hits for them to stagger, take a swing, repeat.

I know about the combat. Taking them one on one is doable, but they're almost always in groups. That, and there's a bug where they can sprint into your character, and you can't move away from them except by jumping a bunch.

bandages require 10 aloe to make, + other mats, compare that to the 10 aloe only to make the aloe healing salve, ( or less with an alch) and bandages are directly inferior. also haven't noticed the higher teir bandages healing any more either.

Went and got about 700 aloe from down south, then made a bunch of those Numbing Wraps.

And guess what? Ten thick leaver, 20 aloe, and 20 honey nets you one wrap. Even better? It heals the same amount as an aloe vera potion.

Have you guys thought the reason it's hard is cause your still mid level? The lower levels where made for levels 1-50. With getting really easy if your 40+. I'm going to bet the highlands are more 40-50 and the icelands are 45-60 range. If your getting your arse kicked it's prob cause you are way to under level and geared for the zone. Go level up some and than come back. Or do like I been doing is carefully fihgt one thing at a time and build and get set up, than I'm going back down south to level up more. I'm mid level 28 right now too and I been all the way up to the Ice Giant Kings castle....I ran like a mother when I found it and left it alone. I have prob explored most of the map up north but run from every thing....lol

Started exploring the Highlands and went up from 50 to 51 just finding three locations. jumped to 58 after finding 5 more locations, a cave, and most of the NPC camps plus to Dungeons. Still at 58, about 1/3rd of the way to 59 and found 2 more NPC camps, a 3rd dungeon and a 2nd cave. Have yet to kill or craft anything. Been runniing my ______ off to get away from everything.

Mate I'm level 50 now. Point still stands; the NPCs are bloody strong, there are no healing items in the north, and the higher tier healing items heal the exact same amount as their tier 1 counterparts.
