I tend to keep my mods updated, if they ever break you have my permission to hunt me down and kick me in the nuts.
But seriously if any of my mods ever break with a game update just drop me a message on the workshop page and it'll get fixed pretty quick.
If you like the danger of the sandstorm you might also want to try SnowstormEx too (that one actually doesn't rely on any CE code so its pretty much bullet proof when it comes to patches)

What hades said. I understand that you have some concerns or have had issues with other mods before. But something made by hades or other long time veteran Conan Exile modders is usually a safe bet in terms of long term care and maintenance.
When I first used the command, I was more or less in the starting area, next to the river. It takes a few minutes for it to reach there. So kept using the command. Not realising I was turning the storm off, then resetting it :D
Have you considered snow drifts piling up (accumulation)? (if that's possible).
Sandstorms damaging structures?
@multigun i never disagree with a person called like a ship in homeworld. But serious, i see, the conan exiles veterans since early access are mostly nice and helpful.
SnowstormEx's temperature buff works in a similar way, as does the sandstorm monster spawn feature of SandstormEx, all are handled by buff's added to the player.
Snow build up is technically possible but not really worth the time and effort involved in polishing a feature like that as I have my current (Conan Modding) sights set on umm a bit more "hi tech" hobby project.
