Where is a good place to build a base?

Im worried about setting a base up to then want to move it to another place, as this would take ages to run back and forth with all my loot. Whats the best way to go about this?
I believe you can teleport but I imagine that is near end game..

It all comes down to how you want to play the game, Ive setup about 2/3 bases in each of the 5/6 servers I've played in, always have setup a base in (location D/E 9/10 - conanexilesmap dot com).

I've found majority of the stuff we needed is north-west'ish of the map so that location was perfect for us.

It really comes down to where you like, we just searched around and made sure we had plenty Stone, Wood & more importantly Iron round about us and set up shop!

I usually build on north west side of tower of bats (https://conanexilesmap.com/#5/-2948.750/1376.500)

It offers:
- nearby aloe, crocodiles, water, yellow lotus, LOTS of stone, iron, bushes and bark (just dont build next to those stone nodes or they will stop spawning)
- sinkhole is not that far so you can tp to it and walk back a bit to your base
- nearby caves of demon shellbacks and degenerates for demon blood, flesh and crystals
- sometimes minibosses spawn that give you ~100 demon blood each

You will need to walk quite a bit for other resources and thralls. Get the map room recipe from archivist in unnamed city and it will make it a lot easier to visit other regions of map, it's not really an endgame item, it's just a bit harder to get materials for it. You will need 200 demon blood for it so either farm the demon shellback cave and the demon dogs near sinkhole or kill the minibosses that sometimes spawn along the river.

i build around that area as well, up on a cliff facing the river. i have elevators and only need one fortified wall to keep fools out. loaded with t3 archers. its a pretty good setup.

I built my main base by the southern river, (never get purged) and put everything important there.
I build temp bases in what ever area I'm working in and leave armor sets and weapons at each end.

If I want to travel fast I just take off all my stuff and die.

Re-dress at other end.

It only takes a few minutes to run from the river to the area around the pirate ship where my second major base is. I have Wheels of pain there but not much else.

Other bases are just used while I'm farming the area and then let go.

If I create thralls I carry them back to my main base by turtle up to 10 at a time, before they are placed.

This way I've never had to duplicate all my benches and storage.

It takes a while to get places but with turtle you can carry big amounts of stuff with you you don't have to make a lot of trips.

I do wish you could have more then two re-spawn points but it's still easier then remaking everything over and over.

PS. Keep in mind that if you don't show up at a base within a little over 5 days it will vanish leaving your Thralls floating in the air.

So trying to have a lot of big bases can be a pain.

I have 2 bases now in solo mode: sentinals and highlands. To transport some of my stuff, I just die (with no loot lost on death). Sentinal base has my bed and highlands has my bedroll. works for me.
