Fancy moves tend to be the combo attacks. 2-3 light attacks followed by 1-2 heavy attacks.
watch that video steelfire
no matter which mouse button i use it seems to be not possible to do such moves.
especially the heavy attack pattern is non existent anymore and no follow up so far for the CtrL attack.
i dont know if it´s caused by a mod or something...
or maybe im doing something wrong :(
Though I did do that heavy slice at one point while my finger was on the ctrl key.
I love 1 hand mace with a shield and 1 hand axe for tougher mobs (bleeding)
But ok many people still enjoy 2h so far and im allright with it.
But im still wondering... why should i ever use a 2 handed sword while mace+shield does way better in terms of damage and defense?
Or a katana in terms of damage, attack speed and evasion possibilities.
I also combined the regular/heavy attacks with the ctrl but the backlash you get for using it feels brutal
The damage of 2h would be fine as well if there would be some kind of mobility left.
So I am limited to just the regular hack and slash we are left with which I hate.
tbh... i´ve never been a katana guy in any game but it rocks in CE ;)
IMO, Sword/mace + shield is the best.
The weapons and combat in this game is ... kind of bad. Running on stiff animations and ...combos in tiers (1-4) between left and right click. They don't even change depending on order (4th left click is always the same despite whatever first 3 attacks were performed).
Two-handed sword is trash, basically. All its good for is area attacks and still fails because one of its attacks is too slow or something.
Sword + shield: BLOCKS, Distant engage (thrust), area attacks. You let go of guard for a split second and get ticks of regen. You can run out bleeds or whatever, block when stuck under a rhino.
The combat in this game is just weak, at least they changed the roll finally. Now they need a real stamina system instead of the the current retarded to hell one. You'll just find a lot of weapons can end up failing you resulting and getting your face punched in, generally a gap between combos or a failing to connect hit. Then you got ...the well.... everything seriously need a heavy redo and polish.
Since their weapon never wear out it's worth letting them use the legendary stuff while I use thing that can be repaired.
You amaze me, we had one of the Ketanas from a chest and none of used it past the practice to see how it worked, it was too slow to do anything it was mainly build up time in which someone could kill you. Looked pretty but as a weapon of offence or defence it failed miserably.
Have you tried a mouse with multiple thumb buttons and assigning commands to them? I use a, very old now, RAT 7 MMO, which has 5 buttons under your thumb. Among other less tactical stuff, the primary buttons I have assigned there are my block and dodge.
Ty Steelfire I will certainly look out for such a mouse, and yes it was Musashi's blade, it put us of that type for good, I must make a star metal one and test it out.
