Menu lag

Every time I open a menu of any kind, main, character, or radial, the game freezes for a good 5-20 seconds. I have tried many fixes but all the articles/posts I have found are a year or so old and so far dont work.

*I have made a new character

*turned off all mods

*set graphics to lowest setting (even though before this issue I could play ultra with no lag)

*played on my own dedicated server

*checked files

*deleted, and reinstaled entire game

*Played with BattleEye off


My GC is a TITAN X btw, never had an issue before.

Driver updates? Virus protection blocking something weird? Probably stuff you have already checked, but those are a couple things I would check if I was working on troubleshooting.

Now that you mention it my anti-virus has been an ass recently... since the last time I played as a matter of fact. Drivers I know is up to date though.

I use Bitdefender and I have lost track the number of times I run into various random issues, pull my hair out, only to realize Bitdefender was the cause.

I was blue screening while working in the dev kit for this game, for example. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why, it was only when I clicked on upload to Steam. And it was because of a Bitdefender issue.

Your problem could very well be something else, but doesn't hurt to at least rule out your virus protection.

I use bit defender too, I have it set up for game mode and put conan on the list of oked games. Should I be doing something else? they are always adding new features when I am not looking that causes issues.

Check to see if Bitdefender is blocking anything related to Conan Exiles as far as app permissions. Another weird issue is Malwarebytes has for a million years worked great next to a virus protections, but not so much Bitdefender.

any play style, online, battle eye off or on, single player, true offline. same issue. Currently doing a last resort, uninstalling all mods, Deleting all files in the conan folder and having steam 'repair' the damage.
