No Sound?

I can't get sound to work in this game unless I disable my mic. Never used to have this problem (I quit playing for a few months, have been playing since alpha).

Works in every other game. What's going on? Is there a fix for this? I need my mic to talk to my team-mates in discord and my viewers while streaming.

This is only happening in Conan: Exiles once I get in game. Menu has sound, loading screen has sound . . . then the moment I'm in game everything goes silent.

Unfortunately no. I've had that issue for months. Even support said they couldn't help cuz 'sound issues are to complicated.' Only fix is disabling mic or trying another headset (seems to effect Bluetooth ones most).

I believe it's a bluetooth headset bug. This only comes up every so often so I always forget what people do to get around it, but I think people just wire it up instead of use bluetooth to fix it.

I do not have a bluetooth headset. It's just a normal, functional headset. Works perfectly.

Are you using an AMD processor/gpu by chance? If not, I have no idea, never heard of this issue.

Nope. Seems to be a common reported issue with Conan exiles? Lots of similar problems came up when I searched.

The link in that post set seems broken so im not sure how to use that to attempt said fix. Any other suggestions because this is litterally the first time ive had even slightly helpful people in these threads.

Recently I've been playing assassins creed unity which started to crash every 10 mins. The fix for this was to replace C:\Windows\System32\XAudio2_7.dll with the one in the UBI Game Launcher directory.

When I did this ACU worked! Little did I know, that it was causing the issue with FO4. Fortunately I kept a backup of the original, replaced it, and FO4 sound works!!

I'm guessing this only applies to those who did a similar fix before for another game, but it definitely solved it for me. So try an clean copy of XAudio2_7.dll (I can host mine if necessary

That is the broken part. I dont have the file they are talking about just sitting around to try and replace it. I just have the one that is currently on my computer. (And i cant seem to find a way to reinstall xaudio online and my comp has no updates for it)

The culprit: It seems that the advanced sound option "Attenuation" within the Discord application settings would work, but get stuck in some games. This resulted in a gradual lowering of the game application's volume until I could hear nothing. It was an incredible pain in the ass because I would need to crank my game volume and try to "mix" all other Windows sound

I also assumed, but just in case, did you take the usual steps? Verify files, check for driver or Windows updates, etc?

Another idea is to check your default sound settings in Windows, both out of and during gameplay. Nvidia has this annoying habit of swapping my default audio output on both my main and secondary computer every so often (usually after a driver update).

Just do a search for sound in Windows 10 and verify that the right audio device is selected when at your desktop, as well as when the game is running.
