How to find and restore to a previous save for SP games
After a couple of hours of headaches and searching around I could not really find a way to do this or any that was clear to me. So I will try my best to explain to help others who run into issues because of something that went south due to mods or other unforseen reasons.

To locate your saves at least for me they where under (D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved)
note that the "D:" may be C or another drive you have the game saved on.

Now the files you are looking for are called "game" and "game_backup_xx"

All you need to do is delete "game" and all of the "back ups" to the point you think the problem you are having ouccured. (BECAREFULL NOT TO DELETE ALL OFTHE BACK UPS UNLESS YOU NEED TOO!!) Then rename one of the other backups to "Game" Start the game and hit continue. If problem is gone good job you restored to a past point! If not repeat till problem is solved!

Simply deleting game and trying to continue will result in the game trying to start a new Single Player game. You need to rename a backup to game. Example game_backup_18 will need to be named "Game"!

Hope this helps someone and saves them a migraine!

Most recent is the game.db file. To replace it, simply rename the game_backup_1 to game.db. The number will go up the older the back up is.

The full filename (when file extensions are turned on) is game.db

Other then that, solid write up. I'm sorry you had to struggle so much through it, but I think this article will certainly help people in the future!

Thanks for the clairfication steitsch I figured I would make an article about this since i has such a headache over it! My only real gripe about this game is there is no real story to it but I love the exploration aspects. but thats another topic....

Thank you very much! One of the recent game updates deleted all of my thralls and animals in my SP. Quite horrible accident, i play it for long years by now. Thanks to this discussion i was able to restore older file! Now with the newest patched build and older file is everything ok again. I am so glad ... :steamhappy:
