Any mods? I'm getting loose reports about possible certain mods causing ID conflicts with the new pots.
Yeah, I wondered about that, the Blacksmith would've been a better choice. Maybe the carpenter needed more work.
However in Excellent Fun Com style it's hidden away in a submenu so that it cannot even be found in the feat searchbar.
I was amazed how far one soupbowl can reach though. I have a whole Desert plateau as a base and below the cliff face and thralls 50 foundations depth away are still covered.
Which food item each thrall has whether it is a favourite or not ... personally I use dried meat that I store in Preserver to mimimise spoilage. So to fill the soup bowl I placed a lot of that ... which was divided out to thralls that didn't get a favourite food. Well all those getting dried meat didn't eat on the next feed and the timer went down a notch till they starve. Of course all 140 thralls all ate their food at exactly the same time. Will that be every 2 hours so that the 100 timer reaches zero in ~ 7 days?
So do the thralls accept but refuse to eat food that's not a listed favourite, like Dried meat?
I suspect the Downside of the thrall food system will be the amount of game resources that this constant calculation for each thrall. Does it have a food, is it a favourite, how long is each thrall covered for food use. My computer was starting to work a lot harder due to this update. So way less game optimization. At least in Single player I can turn it off in settings.
I've found so far that thralls eat pretty much anything we would eat in game...I mean sort of.
They don't drink alcohol when on duty, thats for sure. Tried that. They do seem to like Honey.
Have found that the better grade foods and ones that are their preferred seem to last longer.
Also, appears that when you fill up the pot and the food starts disappearing into the thralls inventory, the closest ones seem to get filled up first and then it spreads out to the others that are further away, however sometimes a walls or something keeps some thralls from getting food till the very end. So, it's not always a constant of who gets when.
Appears to be a distance limit to how far the pot reaches, if your settlement is spread out wide, you might need a second one, so you gotta think about placement of course. Up and down seems to be a little.
Really, with all the stuff in the game surrounding thralls, I'm not sure why they didn't come up with something like a 'cafeteria worker' thrall', where you provide them the raw meat or whatever and they take care of using it to fill the thrall pot after they cook it. No animations needed either, just need a stove and a table station.
Oh, they didn't eat the cooked human flesh or at least they hadn't. Which is not surprising since you can't use it on a thrall wheel either. But, what if I have cannibals on the wheel and Darfari thralls, wouldn't that be their preferred food?
Pots are working fine so long.
And now, pots don't give free clothes to thralls, like one player wrote above in a comment, XD.
That's called ghostclothes, and happen when a thralls is only partially clothed, so the game give them default stuff. It's more a kind of bug, than an intended behavior. And it's very old, happened ever in very early acces. ;)
Pots may not show up in workbench due to some mods. This should be patched and corrected at this moment, so you should be able to craft them now without issues.
Limestone-mod did this, but maybe also some others.
Even now the food requirement would require me to be hunting food each day as my ~140 thralls should empty that pot in a couple of days.
I only need one pot for all the thralls in my base, Checking them all they all had recieved food so that seemed easy. They did all seem to use the food at the same time.
When checking they all had 3 food left and later all had 2 left ... went off madly getting more food as I expected them all to take another 5 lots of foos as the last got used. Came back and the pot hadn't gone down at all, however their food had gone back up to 3 instead of 2. So they are magic food dispensers.
I have had the free coarse vest clothes several times, Im guessing that as thralls get checked for their food ond contents now the clothes get updated. Unfortuntanely that even changed thralls that were wearing coarse vest dyed black that matched the remining parts of their outfits.
Fast Johnny I like the idea of "the cafeteria thrall" ... I guess ARK mods had a brewer for dispensing Beer and condiments. "Would you lke a beer now?" ... here let me top you up. LoL
We could use a brewer thrall too, now that you mention it.
You do know that the Mod City Life offers a range of similar abilities / animations.
Though reduced on servers due to the way that mods need to work with Conan.
They have Quarry workers, Treecutters, Chair minders, Guards, recruits, instructors, citizens Dancers with 6 selectable dances, Citizens bedrolls and benches. I would tend to call them wenches whereas the mod author has selected names to be non sexist, so that anyone can see what they want from the mod. I set some up as hairdressers in a harem
