Wtf is up with all the Asia servers not allowing nudity?

Seriously what is this garbage. Every single official Asia server says "Nudity None".

Edit; Screw it will just change my review to negative since they think it's okay to censor all of Asia which is comprised of many countries.

Why not block nudity for muslim countries only? The rest of Asia shouldn't be punished because of some religious BS. Ridiculous.

Are you daft? How in hell are poloticians to blame? Since you don't seem to realize, Asia is not one country. In EA nothing was censored fyi. AUS doesn't have censored servers. Nothing but a classic case of self censorship, and that's after they sold the game.

They should offer a refund to every single player from Asia.

Because they haven't seperated Asia into each seperate region, as that would cost quite a bit of money, so they adhere to the laws of whatever they have to for the places within.

Basically, while not every part of Asia has restrictive laws, those that do are preventing ALL of Asia from "nudity". I know Japan is pretty touchy about that stuff, to name only one. And Korea. And China. ...And actually a lot of Asia.

Thanks for the decent response. That still doesn't explain why in EA nothing was censored. So all in all that doesn't make any sense. I can't stand censorship, especially when I already bought the damn game.

And I can't even play on Oceanic because of the ridiculous ping limit.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that it had to do with the console release too, in order for Conan to be sold in stores in the Asian markets they had to censor the servers---which I'm guessing blanketed to the PC side too. Which would explain why it happened at release.

That's just a hunch though.

I can understand that for consoles. But this is pc. I have never seen any other steam game do this. Granted I don't have a Japanese, Chinese, etc account.

It wouldn't sting so bad if I could play on Oceanic. But with a ping limit of 175 that just aint going to happen. It pains me to leave a bad review, but I simply can't agree with censorship.

I'll keep playing as the game itself is fantastic. Maybe I'll change my review in the future if Funcom would so much as explain why they did this.

Asia is a very large continent comprising of many countries and cultures. I believe back in the day Blizzard had to remove skeletons from Asian version of World of Warcraft or something. In contrast, some developers reduced or removed amount of blood and gore in their game in order to meet a better rating in Germany.

Pandas. They had to fight for years with China to get the pandas as playable characters in the game, and weren't able to until Kung Fu Panda made China see the light on Cartoony pandas that mimicked their culture.

Having lived in Japan for a number of years I can tell you that pubic hair is totally censored. You'll find boobs a plenty, but no hair.

If non-Japanese products (like a US Playboy) would come into the country, the censors would cover up all the instances of hair that showed.

It's possible that some of the other Asian countries feel the same way about boobs / slong's so instead of setting individual country rules they just lumped them all together.

If you want to write any negative reviews you should do it about the rules in the country you're playing from.

Oh my God. Then they can block the damn nudity for Japan only. I'm completely aware of the common knowledge you just shared. Japan has their own steam store, which means they can limit them there.

My country doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ban nudity. Not one single game on steam has done what they did, period. They threw out a blanket ban simply because they are lazy as ♥♥♥♥. Anyway, I don't have time to sit here and explain these things to people that lack common sense.

Edit: Btw my review is still positive. As pissed as I am, I can't bring myself to give a negative review. The game is just too damn good. I did however mention what they did. So others can know. I mean damn, the trailer itself show ♥♥♥♥ and boob sliders.
