Skining Knives and Ritual Items

Neither will skin any animals.
The Ritual items will not generate their special item when used.
Anyone else have this problem?

Pretty sure they need to be used on human corpses.

oh sorry, should have noted. Tried them on human corpses and they give only the the normal drops with the knives, but not the ritual specific item.

Neither of the skining nor the ritual items work in any way on animals.

Skinning knives works just fine for us on our server as does Mitra's Ankh.

are you on SP or a server ?

do you have mods installed ?

what knife are you using for skining, which ritual item ?

The ritual knifes, like from Set or Derketo Altar don't skin animal.
You need a skining knife, to skin animals.

With bit more precisions it's easier to help !

There's an aim bug that pops up from time to time for some players (myself included) where ritual items stop working. To "fix it", place a sleeping bag, remove your bracelet, get your stuff back and try again. Works for me everytime this bug pops up.

Also if your having trouble hitting anyting below your knees, like crocodiles or rocks you are trying to mine, the above "fix" works for that also. I've gotten to the point where I just kill myself everytime I log in.

I have mods, but I turned them off and the items will still not work.

Iron skining knife does not skin animals.

Derketo's Kiss does not create her special item when used on a human.

Playing SP.

The hit box is working as the items still take HUGE durability damage, but do not produce any materials.

Looking at your mod list, the apprentice butcher and weapoj budle is most likely causing yo problem.
My advise is to throw away the skinning knife, disable the mod, then create a new one.
See if that solve it.

So I just tested it.
On the bottom right of the map: The skining knife works on the komodo dragons, but not the big rhinos nor the ostritch bird things.

Are the latter 2 not skinable?

Nope, both should yield hide if used skinning blade on them.

ok. The knife just hits them and shoots blood, but generates no items, does not remove the corpse, and does a huge amount of damage to the knifes.
