Character Wiped?
So, I've Been Playing On This Server For A Few Days, Was Level 41, And The Server Restarted As It Usually Does, Kicking Everyone, So While It Was Starting Back Up, Out Of Boredom, I Joined Another Server, And Made A Character, I Then Logged Out, And Logged Back Into The Other Server, And It Put Me Back In Character Creation, What Happened? Is My Character Gone?

Official servers don't make it a habit to delete people's characters.

You're probably playing on a server that some random person has paid for. It is utterly at that individual's discretion to wipe it at any time or shut it down the moment they decide they don't want to pay for it anymore. In which event, everything you've ever done is simply gone for good. All that time spent... for nothing.

That's the #1 reason why I will never choose to play on a non-official server.

If not that, you were probalby drunk and hit the recreate character button and accidentally destroyed yourself.

Yes, your character is gone.

@Favoredsoul, it has absolutely nothing to do with Official, Unofficial or Private servers.
I know this for a fact that one other player who was on my server came from another server. Since they were an Admin on the other server, they didn't lose anything about their character when they went back.

The only thing I can see here is what happens if you are in character creation and before entering that game, you log out to return to your previous "home" server.
In the client, you wiped your character before giving the server any chance to store that information. So when you went back, your home server picked that up and put you in character creation where you happened to be at previously.

It doesn't sound right and I believe FC needs to know about this in case others haven't noticed this yet.
Since most people who move between servers are accustomed to creating a new character, they probably complete the process and enter the game on that server.
So if you're in mid-creation and move between servers, that's the information the other server is going to pick up and put you in the desert...making you lose any progress you had before.

I Had Been On An Official Server, And While Bored I Joined My Friends Private One, Then Went Back To Official, But While On The Private Server, I Finished Character Creation, And Walked Over To Shattered Bridge, I Figured My Home Server Would Be Back Up, So I Hopped On, And Was Greeted By A Man On A Cross And The Option Male Or Female, After That I Just, Shut It Down, And Made This Post

So then, you did get into the game and when you went back to the official .. you got skunked.
That sucks really bad.
Bring this up with the devs on the official forums. Give them the details.
Now, read on ....

One thing that comes to mind is an incident which gave me aggravated reason to cancel my account with G-Portal (the official server provider) in less than 24 hours after creating an account for a rented server and having already paid up front for a full year. Now whether or not this occurance that happened to you has anything similar with what happened to me is my best guess.
I'll explain so bear with me .. it's sort of complicated.

I rented a G-Portal server, got the game loaded and the server started up. I gave the server a specific name so it would be easy to identify it on the server list AND I gave it a password to get into it. Then I created my character and got into the game. Everything seemed to be running just fine for the day and I logged out until the next day.
Then the crazy B.S. started.
I started up my client expecting to find my server as usual, but what I found instead in my server space was the default server title "Another YADA YADA, etc". (It was highlighted as if it was my favorited server).
So I open up the server administration page and have a close look. I find THAT IP with THAT TITLE in my server space and my uniquely named server had been "shoved" out by this "doppleganger".
So I go back to my client just to take a stab at logging in with my password.
The password was not recognized. So I was locked out of my server by another server on the same IP (the same damned machine running the server instances).

NOTE: IF I had not secured my server with a password, I would have ended up exactly in the same situation as you .. in the character creation screen.

G-Portal f*cked up and I realized exactly what they have been doing (milking the donkey to put it mildly). It narrows down to a PORT ISSUE.
I cringe to think they are "port sharing".
There is a very powerful chance the official server you were on had been side stepped by another server running on the same IP which explains why you lost your character. It's why mine was replaced by a doppleganger and I couldn't log in with a password despite the fact is was the exact same IP.
I attempted to contact customer service in G-Portal and was redirected to Germany where their HQ is established. The server I rented was located in a TEXAS data center hub. I was expecting someone from Texas, but I got Germany instead with no options.
(Guess what? FC is a customer of G-Portal and G-Portal is one of the customers of the Texas data center hub). THEY DON'T OWN THE SERVERS IN TEXAS... THEY RENT FROM THEM. So that means G-Portal is "sub letting" servers to FC to turn a profit. (I suppose they call that "business").
So when something f*cks up, us people scream at FC for a fix, they have to scream at G-Portal for a fix, then G-Portal has to scream at Texas for a fix. But what does G-Portal do? They point the finger at FC saying it's their issue and redirect you back to FC.
YOU ARE SHAFTED.
WHAT A BUNCH OF B.S.

Customer service didn't give me one damned bit of help and pointed the finger at FC for this server doppleganger debauchery that G-Portal has been pulling ON EVERYBODY.
Believe me, G-Portal is trying their best to keep this monkey business hidden (downplayed) so nobody catches on.

So to sum it up, there is a strong chance your character is still on the original server you came from, it's just that it has been replaced by another server using the same IP where you suddenly discovered yourself back at the character creation screen.
This isn't FC's doing, It's G-Portal who has been screwing everyone and somebody there does not know what in the hell they are doing.

For your sanity ... you would be safer going back to your friend's server (if it is a rented server and especially if they rented from someone other than G-Portal). If they're running a coop server from their own machine or from a dedicated machine from their home .. I trust that about as far as I can throw my television. Because seriously, way too many people don't know a damned thing running a dedicated server, much less do they know anything about what is required how to build one.
