Where Are The Highland Feathers?
It's all in the title :/

Been in by the lake near the break in the aqueduct and I haven't been able to craft any arrows since the desert because I haven't been able to find any feathers or bird to smite and harvest like the tough Nord that I am

you can allways do set religion arrows, all you need is set LvL2 and a carpenter bench so you can make poison arrows whit only branches.

You can learn the Set religion for free from the Set Teacher, if you're in the Highlands, he's not that far away, just South of the Wall and Eastish. The arrows aren't super high base damage but do inflict poison and cost nothing more than branches to craft.

I've seen "feather nodes" in the high cliffs that make as border between the northern land and the desert... if you climb up one of them, you should be able to harvest them from those nodes.

you dont need the alter to craft em just unlock LvL2 so your abul to bild it. and if you go to the set trainer it will be cheper on points. yes base DMG aint any thing to brag about but the poison stacks so realy powerfull in the long run. espesely agenst Bosses.

As long as I'm able to hunt, or even weaken opponents before melee battle or hunt deer and stag, I'm happy

I never personally used them in combat but you have spears, throwing axes and even orbs as alternatives for ranged weapons. Not sure if you get the throwing axes back or not.

I know the cliff-face you're talking about but is it east or west of the Priestking's Retreat thing?

To be honest, I don't exactly remember the position... I was mostly exploring the area and looking for places where to build an outpost and it was getting dark so I climbed up to a cliff and waited the night there (didn't want to deal with fighting wolves and stuff in the dark and I only had 2H weapons at that time) and when it was clear again, I saw them below me on one of the cliff tops that were near the old green wall line that it's now deactivated. It's definitely west of the Chaosmouth... and probably past the broken aqueduct too... I'd say it was more towards the island that is west of the aqueduct (don't recall the name... the one that's filled with yellow lotus)

I will see if I can try to find the spot again tonight when I play!

I spoke to the Set dude, but I take it I need to craft a Set altar or something?

No, not needed... once you learnt the religion.. you should be able to make the arrows in the carpenter's bench!

Lol... no worries. Gonna try to grab screenie of the map position when I find it... but I won't be able to play for a couple of more hours, though :(

If you need feathers just go and kill some ostrich things west of Summoning Place.

Yeah I ended up having to do that anyway. But I made sure to make a double-sweep of the place just so there's enough stocked up feathers to last a while so I don't have to make that long-ass trek again :p
