Last of the Mohecans Soundtrack?

Has anyone noticed that one of the main themes of Conan is virtually identical to Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones' Promontory in the Last of the Mohecans theme?
I guess it's possible that they both borrowed from some existing folk tune?

I used to put LotM soundtrack on in the background when I'd play MMOs like Lord of the Rings Online because it is such a tremendously awesome adventure soundtrack.
