He means for the planted plants, right now seeds are just a little bit of extra resource that you need to spend a lot of effort to actually get them. They're not a substainable way to actually farm them so it is usually better to just get your sickle out and smash some more plants instead of bothering with the plants and its fertilizer - especially the ones needing the better one which needs blood, which ironically seems to be one of the rarest resources in CE.
It's the only way to make the farming mechanic to make sense ...
Pretty sure there is already a mod or two that have that as one feature among many in their larger mods.
If your planter boxes can't replenish themselves, then there was no reason to have added them in the first place.
I agree. Its a stupid mechanic, put in to distract ppl from the lack of real mechanics being put in.....
I know. But in real life plants give seeds too.
This isnt real life, its a computer game.
Are we playing the same game?
I mean, what choice would that be?
One more sickle swing vs. a long and annoying production chain to get fertilizer to eventually get the remaining plant stuff out of the seeds after another long waiting period. A single sickle swing on another plant is quicker and yields much more resources.
There's absolutely no gameplay reason to have it work as a more annoying and worse way to get the same result like another method.
Add a simple ~65% (testing) chance to get another seed out of a seed and you can actually farm in this game, with an off chance that you might run out if RNGesus hates you and make fertilizer work for more than one seed.
