The best one I made was a fortress with a high wall and 2 gate entrance with a couldrens for siege def and t3 walls and fences and all
9 bombs or so take down the first gate and spalsh damage Is like 5 damage or so and with the fence they can't climb over and of course when they reach the second gate your clan can dump tar on them
I play Single player and dont focus much on pvp but im always interested in large clan bases and designs.
As far as what I like to do, I like things with Canyons to encoporate cliff building, horizontal elevators, draw bridges, all to make massive cities and fortresses.
You could use the environment to your advantage, like using a spring to build yourself an indoor pool/bath, or build around a waterfall.
Use existing ruins and bridges to create something.
Conan's building system is insanely open to your imagination, so play and experiment!

I remember seeing this. Great design Deamo.
I usually do what I call a square watch tower base first. 3 double levels (2 walls high per floor) with the bottom one actually surrounded by a double layer of stacked foundations so it's effectively a basement) with the top floor having a sloped or pyramid roof. Usually do it between 6-8 blocks per side. Best spot is around the sands between the tower of the bat and the cave full of brimstone. Easy access to mats you need to build up reserves to make a better base later on. First/basement floor is furnaces and most crafting stuff, second is my food/potion prep area, and top floor is the catchall room with storage and maybe an altar up there (has to be the larger size).
I suggest build smart but on large rock formations or in very low populated locations like the Rocky hills of the noob desert etc
The best thing you can do is make a t3 base with 2 entrances. Why 2? In case you get raided you can get your most valuable possessions and bail out the back door
