Altar of Chaosmouth??? What is this for???

I ran across this altar. It is a fixed in game altar. I've never seen it before and when I googled, I could find nothing on it anywhere. Anyone know what it is for?

It has no apparent function as far as we can tell. It seems there is another one on the Tower of Bats that works like a compost heap.

That altar, is where your story ends IF you use the stone it produces.
1 setback though.
You'll see yourself walking "beyond" the cursed wall in whatever gear you are wearing and vanish over a dune out of sight.
Then you start over ...
from scratch ..

Sort of a "riding into the sunset" kind of ending.

That altar is used to "awaken" a staff that you aquire from the Abysmal Remenant

Staff + albino demon bat blood = an Awakened Triumvirate Staff.
Equip it,
Place it down
Talk to it

oh 25 days ago it wasn't available yet, all the artifacts were implimented with the full release
