I am guessing that since you get it in a dungeon, and the reptilian armor the only other set you get in a dungeon gives cold protection, it is supposed to be worn when you get into the volcano.
Now there is some discussion about the heat/cold protection, if they are working or not, but regardless of that they are not supposed to be worn in the same situation/area.
My issue isn't that its better, that is fine, but the vast difference in resource cost is a bit much, if anything the Silent Legion Armour should be more expensive to craft/maintain given the massive benefit it has over the other sets, it makes them all completely pointless, since you can kill the boss with ease, without ever equipping one of the level 60 sets.
So all the effort put into those sets is pointless, because the Silent Legion armour is just that much better.
But if its a huge deal go the officials let them know. I doubt they even paid much attention to the mat costs of late with them being in crunch time could just been somehting left in the cracks that should be fixed just no one reminded them
While that is true, about everyone dumping old recipes once they are useless. This is the first time I've encountered a tier being cheaper than the one that came before it, and by a big margin. It'd be like the Acheornian or Star Metal equipment being easier to craft than Steel equipment.
Things are also level gated in this game, so you can't jump skip ahead to the next tier, but at level 60 Silent Legion and all the default sets become available at the same time, so there should be some balance between them, and if one is a boss reward, like the Silent Legion, the devs should probably consider balancing its cost to be on par at the very least, with the other sets. But I think a middle ground is best, the Legion set is too cheap and the other sets are too expensive, so bring one up and one down, so there is some level of balance between them.
About gold? You mean gold, or the gold dust? Gold dust I have seen dropped by npcs here and there, but I jave never mined any. Where are the obsidian nodes you speak about? On the way to the volcano?
Yeah on the way up the volcano, you can then turn it into Gold Dust in the Grinder after smelting it into ingots.
it's 1 to 1 actually
