Temple of Frost tips

I've just finished Temple of Frost, and here's few tips that you might find useful:
1. Frost giants are about as strong and tough as a mammoth. If you can kill a mammoth, you can kill a frost giant. Remember to bring a shield as they have a whole lot of knockdowns.
2. Insides of the temple cause frostbite with nordheimer armor on, however the boss rooms have moderate temperature, so you don't have to worry too much.
3. Definitely bring hardened steel sword and hardened steel pick. They are the new requirements to craft black ice sword and black ice pick.
4. Vanilla black ice sword without any improvements has 47 damage and 9% armor penetration. It uses black ice and hardened steel bar to repair.

And don't forget healing items and lots of food.

Put your sandstorm mask on, throw gas orbs and kite them around :-D This is how you kill these guys if you have not enough DPS to kill them with your sword. They are very slow. You can dodge and kite them all the time in the gas and they cant do anything.

I guided a friend to this temple yesterday to help her fighting the giants. I already crafted my black ice tools before this recent huge update. Well, i crafted new ones after the update as well (because i went there to farm black ice and thought, you can never have enough black ice tools^^).

Anyway, yesterday we really struggled hard at the smeltery, this "window" popped up to press E to interact, but really nothing happened. Not for me, not for my friend. She relogged - nothing. We left the temple and entered it again - nothing happened at the smeltery.

Afterwards (as she knows the receipt now) we went to my base and i gave her my new black ice tools, and she really was very disappointed about the damage of the black ice sword. I've put some improvement on my old one, but it does 127/9% damage! I need one heavy attack to kill a level3-fighter and two for a black keep skeleton.

Also the frostbite is really hard. I wore the Vanir fur-armor and really struggled to survive there. When I got frostbite/extreme cold, i even couldn't use my healing bandages (it stopped healing after 1 sec or so), so I could only keep alive by eating constantly -.-

GOOD HINT for the giants: Search for a good spot. They're dumb. There are a lot of spots your sword can slit them, but they can't hit you. Best and easiest example: The throne of this huge frost giant.

Now the swords have just 47 health damage..... they nerfed them down because of the new combat system.

i'm gonna dig a hole and hide my sword there for the time after the wipe xD

It also uses only 1 black ice to repair, while still using regular amount of hardened steel.
