Sound issues still?
I cant play the game at all with sound. Like not as in i cant turn sound on, as in sound cuts out entirely as soon as i enter game(And then makes annoying popping or thumping sounds now and then...Or just makes a high pitch whining the entire time.) Any server and even single player does this. Both with and without mods. It resumes sound as soon as i go back to the menu. Litterally no other game i play does this. From single player subnautica to multiplayer ark, its not my headphones but this game. And honestly its really annoying not to be able to play this with sound, especially when this is supposed to be a nearly "finished" game with the release on the 8th.

Does litterally anyone have any idea of how to fix this or seen anything on this issue before? All I saw when looking up the key word for sound or sound problem was USB issues and my headphones are bluetooth. Sorry for being annoyed but i really just want to play with my friends who are coming back for release and no sound is really making the experience cruddy.

I'll machine gun some general tips and hope maybe one of them will help. I understand your frustration, I hate having weird tech issues that almost nobody else has and thus the interwebs is a bust.

  1. Tried another sound output device?
  2. Verified Windows is using the correct default sound driver? (Nvidia driver updates often will switch your default sound drivers to HDMI / Nvidia's)
  3. Drivers up to date on chipset/sound card/video card(for funsies on that one)?
  4. Tried updating, disabling, or re-installing sound device drivers via device manager or manufacter website?
  5. Verified Conan Exiles files or tried uninstalling and re-installing?

Those are the steps I would start with if it was me having those issues. I realize you said only Conan Exiles is affected, and that some of my tips are general tips that affect everything rather then just Conan. However, in my 20 years of general tech Computer Experience, sometimes, there is just that ONE game that ends up letting you know that you have a general problem that you didn't know that you had. Anyways, Good luck!

I dug out some old ipod headphones i had and those seemed to work fine in game so i guess there is that as long as im not in a call while in game they would work with low quality sound at least.

So its something to do with the bluetooth headset going on, thats the right direction at least. I made sure they were my default device and nothing else was re-enabled that shouldnt be.

I checked all drivers involving sound, games and my headphones (even the video card for you), AMD did have one, restarted comp afterwards and no change. None of the others needed updates or anything and there were no driver files from my headphone manufacturer in the first place when i checked to even reinstall. (They are these just in case you are curious: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=MDRXB950N1&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab )

Validated conan and one file failed to validate, after that fixed i tried it all again and still no change. I havent tried totally uninstall and reinstall yet, but i suppose thats my only option left at this point as much as that sounds like a pain.

I'm about to go to bed here, but it looks like this was an issue for others a good while ago.

No fix in there, what it does tell me is that uninstalling and reinstalling probably won't work.

Can you plug your Bluetooth headphones in using a headphone jack? Wouldn't surprise me if that solved the issue.

Otherwise, maybe look into other games that use UE4, like Ark. I know your headphones work fine on Ark, but maybe others ran into issues and they posted a fix. It could be an engine/UE4 issue with Bluetooth (or probably not, but gotta eliminate all the variables you know?)

At least you know that it's specifically Bluetooth and the game, that narrows things down a bit. I hope you are able to find a fix.

Damn wish i would have seen that before i had started the uninstall and reinstall, gonna take a bit for that to finish up before i can play again. I can in fact, use a headphone jack with them though, just found the cord for it to in their original bag, im just unsure if i can use them for calls at the same time still if i do it that way, i will need to test it out to see if it works.

Ill look around at the ark stuff though even if it does work fine there, see if i find anything. Thank you for the help even if it didnt fix it, still apreciate it.

Hey guys, I have a turtlebeach z60 headset which i believ has multiple speakers. Anyway long story short, I was able to hear everything fine in this game in the menu up until I got into a game.

What worked for me:

Ensure that both "speakers " are enabled in "sound control panel" (I'm using windows 10> Right click speaker icon >open sound settings> Sound control panel on the far right).

(Mine looks like "communication Path" for the headset, then "Speakers" for the headset)

Mine defaulted to the Communication path, which was having no sound, so I changed the default to the "Speakers" of the headset.

This will hopefully work!

its not any pc setting problem its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Funcom Problem...
i have turned everythign and anything on on high, and all i hear is electronic wave noice in the back while the hole conan sound ist very low to hear, and its only CONAN EXILES wich has that Problem, all other games browser and musik and TV work like everytime, but if i have played coan, and forget to push back all levers, everyone in my nightborhood get awake if i turn on anything Sound but not Conan related..... its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Funcom Problem.... a 5 Year old Problem still unfixed up to today... why nobody knows, and at funcom nobody Cares.....

And yes i checked all the settings in the hardwar its the right port its the right sound device, its not i do it once a few years but nvidea crap drivers push me with every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update, to turn the nvidia crap sound ♥♥♥♥ turn of and redo the original sound i normaly use wich is optical out to big Soundmaschine, wich is working perfekt with everything, only conan if i turn ist on i hear a electronic sound in the back as all wave enhancers are set to maximum the the sound is barly to hear...
