Elephant's hide?

Hi,
How do I get the Elephant hide to craft the Hyrkanian raider brigantine? When i skin elephants with skinning knife, i only get thick hide and not elephant hide.

try with hatchet.

i tried, only exotic flesh and thick hide. Maybe there are other species of elephants....
Edit : just got one on a baby elephant.

elephants i the northern desert should give the hide with the skinning knife, mammoths up north will only give thick hide

Huh wierd crocs give reptile hide with skinning knife I always just assumed elphants would work the same...

i'm in a sort of savannah, near the "swagger rock". I tried several elephants with skinning knife and hatchet, but only babies seems to give elephants hide (with both tools). There's another elephant wich is bigger and light grey, but too strong for me atm.

thats the elephants that are supposed to give you the hide.. might need a higher tier skinning kife to get it?

maybe, i'am on steel tier, will try with higher tier tool.

steel should gather it, are you running any mods? they might be stuffing things about if so

yes, i run pythagoras and pickup+ mods. Will try without them, thanks for your help guys.

Pythagoras seems to be the issue, now i can get elephants hide! Thanks again for your time, now i can craft my armor :)
