(The amount of new code and mechanics that would be required to actually make the world feel alive with everyone slowly pushing to mid ground, Is huge. They'd need to change corruption and make a moving zone, They'd have to make AI alot more aggressive and spawn right ontop of people. They'd need to make new random loot locations and disable all world spawns just to free up the server to handle more people.. The list goes on and on... Its entirely a new game/genre.)
I would much rather them focus on the game itself and then maybe a year later, if they are successful enough, making a standalone based on the code.
Kinda like ark did, But actually putting the battle royale open to the public (Anyone who doesnt have ark, cant play ark royale)
Eitherway theres alot of battle royale games out, but i dont think any of them are melee based.
(you could debate darwin project is melee based) So i think its a good idea in that aspect.
But i would rather them focus on the Survival Conan Exiles rather then the battle royale exiles.
-Random circleir area about 1/8 the size of the map that does not get smaller. Instead you still have hunger and thurst but the animals do not respawn so ones all the resourses die off you die of hunger (also you can make water go down as time progresses so you can't harvest any more of that either). Every game will have a different recource pool based on where the circle is randomly drawn on the map. You can either make weapons as fast as possible and kill every one first or build up to the god sumoning (would need to be streamlined) to win. Also you would start at max level. I think it would be fun, I want to like the core game but it's just has too much prep and not enough action for me. I donno maybe I'll try a RP server with some structure.
Maybe combine the idea of hunger games with resident evil 1.
Really you only need a few more elements by the creative community in the workshop to bring entirely new modes here. I wouldn't depend on Funcom to deliver new modes anytime soon, but you can certainly recycle their content to create them (I can see the Grove of Jhebbel Sag used as a map for a particular set of game modes, or Black Keep). Just what you do with this game and the mods available to us is at the behest of your creativity. This is an extremely flexible game. I just wish we had some legitimate parkour added in. All these neat buildings and all we can do is climb & run on them.. Where's the linear wall-run, wall-run attack slam/vertican slash, shift-ctrl slide, ledge-grab, and dash leap? We already have a great combat system. Further refined methods of locomotions would tuly bring out PvP & PvE.
