My god those skeletons with shields...
Just got bodyblocked and mauled to death by those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Attacked one, then a second one aggroed, then a third one spawned OUT OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NOWHERE, they all formed a circle around me, couldn't move, couldn't attack, and they killed me.

Why do they have to RUN INSIDE YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BODY to block you ? Why hasn't this been fixed already ?

A dragon ? Yeah I can manage. A giant croc ? No problem. Skeletons ? Naaah bro better run because they CHEAT !

Some weapons can bypass shields either through shield bash(axes), or reach (pikes)

Use the right weapons and pay attention to their properties.

The weapon doesn't matter if they bodyblock you, you can't move nor attack and you're dead in two seconds.

Roll out, and pay attention to the locations. Don't just headlong rush into them.

Dodge rolls still work in that situation and are the best solution second to bringing friends or even thralls

No dodging didn't work, I was bodyblocked. Literaly, I couldn't move, they formed a circle around me, and when their model enters the player model you can't move anymore. It's a bug, you just get stuck inside them.

I'll make a video next time ( I recorded too late here I was already dead ).

Happened to me more than once.
My character tends to get stuck between their shield and their body
(the body of a single skeleton before me and the shield of said skeleton behind my back),
so that I am not able to dodge anymore.
After a few jumps I may get unstuck sometimes,
but most of the times I am better off to just settle down for dying.

the mechanics are bugged regardless of the player above trying to be as helpful as possible. You can actually be stun locked and never hit the ground in new asgarth if you get a couple of npcs with maces on you. The combat system is well designed but typical to any funcom game-rushed and poor delivery. They have yet to comment back about the many bugs with it on their forums or test live page when it released. Rhinos are still bugged also and sometimes mammoths where you can get stuck in their body and fall halfway into the ground. Its a buggy mess in its current stat. The best way to kill any npc with a shield is circle around them and just light attack once or twice otherwise they will just keep their shields up and run into your body

Yeah, I had trouble with them too... it's specially irritating the fact that if you're fighting more than one, if the skeleton behind the one you're targeting is blocking it makes that you can't even attack the one in front of you... your weapon recoils as if the one you're targetting is also blocking... so they effectively cover each other's with blocking 100% of the time. That makes it impossible to take the opportunity to hit the one in front of you while he has his guard down.

Since that time on, I started to ignore them... just climb to something and they'll deaggro in a bit... or just run past them and put obstacles behind them and you.

It seems that for most AI, if they don't see you... they don't chase.

I started using a War Axe though, and with that I had better luck... even then, sometimes I fight one or two that 100% block all the damage and just stand there doing nothing while I wail on him, but I haven't been back to area where they all are yet, I just mostly fought the ones that are inside Deathwhisper ruins and the ones in the undead village that is near the sinkhole, and they seem to be easier than the ones in the Unnamed City.

Yep happend to me once but i didnt think of it as a bug more good strategy on there part you know surround your enemy and dont give them a chance to escape and all that.
Its when they all merg into one another and become an Unblockable super skeleton blender that bugs me.

Axes will bash through along with some maces, and spears/pikes will reach past the shields

Fighting enemies with shields is like playing "Chicken".. it's knowing when to flinch.
They drop their shield just an instant before they attack.
Think tactical and you'll keep outmanuvering them ... so keep your head on a swivel.

One other thing (such as in Deathwhisper ruins) .. use a sandstorm mask and gas orbs.
You won't believe how fast they go down. If you don't have a mask yet, throw at a distance and stay out of the cloud but make sure to put the cloud between you and them.

"typical to any funcom game-rushed and poor delivery." That's the problem. All the great things about the game are marred by incredibly poor implementation. The combat system has serious bugs. There are tons of items, some of which have no real use, but no way to easily sort them. The thrall system is fantastic, but you can't turn off friendly fire. I damage my thralls harvesting resources??? Just, WTF? They did this with AoC, too. The first 20 levels of Age of Conan was just fantastic. Best MMO experience I've ever had, but the game, and I'm speaking of the mechanics here, was just never finished. They never settled on how things were supposed to work. They gave bugs and some things that could be tweaked simply like friendly fire and sorting items, and they're releasing DLC? Just boggles the mind.
