Can a Bearer Thrall Fight?
I just captured Eina the Light and noticed a ridiculous 9900hp. So the question is, do dedicated fighters/archers have some kind of advantage in combat that would make them worth more?

I put epic flawless Hyperborean Slaver Armor and a Lifeblood Spear on Eina. She solo slaughtered the white tiger boss with 50% health still left. It's probably the server problem.

Looks like the bearer also has unlimited flint arrows. She'll shoot anything in her inventory and whenever it's empty, will spawn a flint arrow, load it, and then fire it.

If you’re looking to get some easy ammunition to load your archers with, make a shrine to Set and start ripping people’s hearts out. You can use the shrine to make DoT poison arrows that stack damage with each shot.

I use grotesque numbers of those arrows to kill some of the more annoying bosses. My thralls will have to make due with flints.

All thralls rely heavily on the gear you provide them. Be it the Tier 4 bearer or any other thrall. It's the down side to them over say a greater pet.

The advantage is, they become infinitely more powerful if you go all in when gearing them. Level 60 Epic, flawless heavy will get a Thrall to 760 armor rating or 75% resist. Similar they do more damage if you equip high end weapons. Bows or Melee.

Many tests have been done and health is a direct marker to tier of a thrall. The 9900 bearers are the upper tier of the Relic Hunter faction and can put out high damage when given good weapons. Higher than any other Thrall candidate in single shot testing including other Tier 4 in their own faction. They don't tend to combo as much so over a long fight they will produce less damage than say a Bandit Leader or Lissa Archer but they more than hold their own and can put down any trash mobs pestering you while you gather with great ease. As a sidekick fr everyday stuff, give them quick weapons. For big fights, go for pure power damage, two handed weapons and they will shred any enemy you set them on.

I usually used Hyperborean because the strength boost is worth only having 720 armor. Something tells me thralls don't benefit from that boost. One of the many things I wish this game would make clear...

Useless - throw it away.

Only keep it for roleplay reasons, I guess. It slightly increases your encumbrance but it’s pretty pointless otherwise.

How do you guys not accidentially kill your bearer thrall while you are fighting? Everytime I fight with any thrall I am the one who accidentially kill them rather then the enemy. I turn friendly fire down to 0.1 and I still kill my thralls if i accidentally land 3-5 hits. It makes them annoying to have around if I am going up against groups. How do people mitigate this problem?

Turn friendly fire to 0 in your .ini

You could also bring along a super tough thrall. You aren't going to kill a 9900hp thrall in 3-5 hits unless you have some serious mods or slider imbalances.

I usually don't bring thralls with me as they are a huge liability for my constant boss farming. What are thoughts on how well they defend a base?
What bosses are you on about?

Daicas the Sharp: decent weapon, decent armour couple of rounds of the unnamed city bosses and then a couple of crocs, demon spider and the rhino for the legendaries then home for some rest and relaxation. He does all the work and I just do the support work. If anything I'm the liability!! :)

My last farm was something in the order of 25 Red Mothers. Kill one, quit, kill another, quit... You get the idea. Considering how well Einas held up against the White Tiger, that would probably result in me carrying all her stuff home.
