Building falling apart.
Just logged into my single player game, and watched about 50 various tiles explode, and fall to the ground in a big massive heap.

Is this normal? From the damage angle it looks like a meteor has come through my base!

Built on the land outcrop on the river, just due west of the Shattered Bridge.

Building can be a bit buggy... happens to one of my bases all the time always a different part of the base... even parts of the base that have 100 stability sometimes when the server resets some of it will randomly loose stability and collapse even have a defensive wall around the outside of the base that is made just using foundations that will sometimes randomly loose stability...

Also have a pillar inside the base that if I try and replace it or upgrade it that crash the entire server...

Any mods?

I've had the same thing happen on PS4, so I do not think this is a mod issue, as PS4 cannot use mods. It seems pillars are the likely culprit, as every claim of this I have seen (as well as my own experience), the structures have used pillars, and the destruction usually occurs around pillars.

A stopgap measure would be to avoid using pillars for now.

Now that you mention it, I think I heard about a known issue with regards to pillars and stability where stability fails under certain conditions. You might have hit it on the nose there and I just forgot about that. If memory serves, it's something Funcom is working on atm, but I could be wrong.

Using your mod Multigun the overlap version. Got a pillar of triangle foundations in a hex formation in the middle of my base. With a stairwell running up the sides, surrounded by walls boxing it in as it runs up the building. At the base there is two sets of foundations overlapping each other. The first being a triangle grind. The second is an overlapping square foundation next to the middle hex with triangles linking them, this allows the walls to be built up the side as a 12 sided circle around the stairs. Maybe I misplaced one of the over lapping triangle foundations. The building itself is a circle, well I say circle its 12 sided!

Been reading on the official forums. It appears pillars are having stability issues on serve restart. Or in your case single player restart. You may want to use walls with foundations as a temporary fix.

Less extreme example but I replace these two stairs after every server reset. I even remember putting them in too. It was a battle royal to get them to snap right.

I have not seen this yet. One of my bases is built off the ground on pillars. Last time I logged in, it was still intact.

Ya, dunno what the cause is or how to find a repeat case, but Ignasis has commented on it that it's something they are aware of.

I took back what I said Matke587 because it just happened to me too, a star metal meteor just blasted the desert and then melted away quickly.
That is a new one. My base in my SP game is under the path they take to the frozen north.

It's the new patch they warned that overlapping building parts will be destroyed
ClayboTGW Jun 13, 2019 @ 3:31pm
Yes meteors will take out base parts and or kill you if hit by one

I did not expect it either but it happened at Jhebbal guy area. I took a screenshot of it and posted it if you search recent screenshots.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1768987897 So I suppose the question is what are the chances of one of these things hitting your base?

I've got about 1,000 hours in the game and this has yet to happen to me in the desert.

It's hard to tell these days whether behavior like this is a bug or a legitimate change so this is a tough question to answer.

It would be kind of interesting but also terrible if this starting happening more often.

I wonder how 'meteor resistant' Vaults are?
