Hardened Steel Recipe Changed!

I can't craft hardened steel, 2 steel + 1 brimstone in a furnace OR improved furnace, used dry wood, normal wood, and coal just incase to see if it affects it. No results. I am using mods but was able to craft hardened steel before, my mods haven't changed. No one on my server can craft hardened steel either.

oof... black ice at hardended steel tier.... that's tuff, but doable, the dungeon where the Champion is has black ice, and our base is relatively close to it.

yeah i didnt read the patch notes, never do. guess i was just lazy but thank god for peeps like Multigun <3 now this thread exists so any other threads that are similar can get merged with this.

Question of the day. "Why?" Black Ice was required to make Black Ice weapons/tools using Hardened Steel weapons/tools. Now Black Ice is required to make Hardened Steel. So? What Hardened Steel is now a vat of redundancy?

Think it's more of a level based thing. If you're low level then Hardened steel works good since you can't craft Black Ice equipment yet, however if you get wiped you can skip straight to Black Ice again since you were already on that tier. Guess they want higher level players to be 'forced' to use higher tier equipment, in that making lower tier equipment is redundant now thanks to the recipe changes.

Still, I thought the old method was fine.

Yeah that kind of freaked me out too.. They went back to the old, OLD formula. Before we even had Star Metal.
