CANT EQUIP TOOLS AND WEAPONS

i just bought that game but stopped because without equiping a hatchet or a pickaxe its unplayable HELP !!!!

Are you using any mods? If so, you may want to look at when they were last updated.

There is also a small bug that can rarely occur that makes it so you can't use a 1 handed weapon. Equip a 2 handed weapon, such as a 2 handed sword, or pike, or even daggers, and it will let you resume using 1 handed weapons.

Place items in toolbar then press that number to use them. If you have done that and it still doesn't work, perform an action, like wave., dance, whatever. then try to use it again. NOT sure what this glitch is or why they have never fixed it but it works.

Im not using any mods , tried to wave , shake fist , removing bracelet , recreating character , starting a new game , restarting client , just nothing works :(((((((((

Well, we can't see any of your inputs, but you surly hit the number of its slot? In your case 3.
did you try anything else than tools?
Btw you can't unequip any tool/weapon with the inventory open

yes sword too , nothing gets ever equipped in einter of my hands , i play games like minecraft after equipping to slot 1 and hitting 1 should equip it to hand , idk what the hell is going wrong with that here

I guess you can't use food or placeable stuff either (with the inventory closed)?

Did you try Multiguns solution of trying to use any 2H item?

Hey there,

Please make sure your keybindings for the shortcut bar are configured correctly. You can access them in Settings -> Keybindings. If they're still set correctly, please try to change those bindings to either 1, 2, 3 and so on and see if it works that way. Otherwise you can try to set them to another set of keys of your liking.
Also, if you happen to have a spare keyboard around, you can try to plug it in and see if it works correctly in case all of the above failed.

Will likely not work if you can't access your shortbar at all.

PROBLEM SOLVED ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! - i wanna thank to you all guys for trying to help , i appreciate that really , means a lot

SO , the problem was folllowing , those numbers from 1 - 0 above QWERTZUIOP are useless and cant use them for anything and now i managed to change that to F1-F9 hotkeys it began to grab things to his hands and building works too , eating aswell . If somebody happens to have this kind of problem he may find himself here
