How do you hatch eggs you buy from merchants

Toss them into a compost pile, to reduce the timer to two hours. Then throw what hatched into an animal pen.

I tried it with a egg i pick up from a nest put it in the compost heap and it just expired

You have to pull the egg out of the compost bin before it expires, it has to hatch in your inventory. So watch the timer when it gets to like 20 seconds pull them out and let them hatch in your inventory.

it doesnt have to hatch in your inv, it will still hatch in the compost bin it jsut will also expire faster
