For now, until you can make the Iron Sickle (~20), you need to just use your hands on bushes.
in the patch that introduced sycthes, fiber from the little trees with anything other than a sycthe has been disabled. and sycthes start at steel so there is now a gap where you must harvest by hand.
sycthes work very well and you can even use them on things like aloe.
but some of us have been asking to add an iron sycthe so people can have access quicker.
how are low lvl players supposed to get fiber until they are lvl 40 and it's a loong grind.
besides, by lvl 40 you'll be swimming in fiber from loot and won't even need a sickle as much...
it's not like those bannana trees grow everywhere either.
You are kidding right? You get it from the tens of thousands of bushes all over the game map which was always much faster than trying to get it from those trees.
