Someone in another discussion linked this[www.hyboria.xoth.net] handy guide Conan religions. Also they did say Derketo (goddess of healing and seduction) was going to be in the game, but she was cut from EA-launch.
Yeah I saw mention of Derketo in an early article on the game, however it also seemed to mention being able to capture players and sacrifice them to your god so I was unsure of how much of the information was accurate, it was a fairly early article on the game (January) so a lot of things could have changed from then.
Also, after going through the list of gods, I'm fairly certain erlik will make it in, because I'm sure they will have necromancy in CE.
Lastly your dead on about worshiping multiple gods. Clans shouldn't be allowed to have members that worship gods with diametrically opposed beliefs, or at the very least there should be a server setting for RP servers.
Yeah the article I read on the subject was from the start of the year so probably out of date information. Might have been a planned feature but ended up being put on the backburner.
The reason they stated for not allowing players to capture other players is that it isn't much fun for the person being captured, if they can figure out a way for the experience to be interesting for the captive as much as the captor then they will consider it but until then it is not something they want to implement.
To be fair it is a valid concern however being outnumbered and ganked by a raiding party several levels higher than you isnt a fun experience either, though at least being killed is kind of instantanious where being captured you kind of have to wait around until your captors have had their fun.
That said there is are ways around this problem, the first and most obvious solution would be to allow the captured player to treat capture as a death, if escape looks impossible allow them the option to take their own rather than forcing them to wait around till their captors are done with them. The second would be to allow some method of escape, RoK allowed you to hide certain objects in your "orifice" like a sharp rock for cutting rope or a lockpick for getting out of cages or metal shackles.
While capturing players is undoubtedly more fun for the players doing the capturing it can still lead to some interesting interactions for captured players and their allies uniting clans to go in rescue of their captured allies, only thing is capturing players can't be as easy as it was in RoK where you simply walk up to a player with a rope and hold the mouse button to capture them, at least require players to be knocked out or surrender before being able to shackle them and give them a way out if they want no part in the process.
Have they said when they plan to show off the religion system in the game like in a future live stream? This is one of the things I am most curious to hear more about.
