How Can We Stop The Toxic KOS Community From Plauging This Game?
This game in my opinion is going to need a reason for people to not be afraid of breathing strangers. Rust went from cute small homes on the country side with multiple bottom floor windows to 200 story bases with spike traps surrounding it and stone walls placed randomly around the area, every single server I load up the map is trashed with garbage designed bases that players was trying to create in order to keep raiders from successfully stealing their loot.

For starters I think that this game should implement a no ***KILL-ON-SIGHT*** option for new solo players. Grand theft auto V has this very option where if you want to PVP then you can and if you don't feel like getting shot you can turn on peace mode as a solo player. This option can give him/her time to resource and build shelter peacefully without the worry of bigger groups killing him/her for their resources that took them hours to farm by themselves. Peace mode also gives new solo players the means to without risk of dying approach larger groups of people to ask to be apart of their group. Once the solo player is in a Tribe/Clan/Alliance they no longer have the option to play in a peace mode state of being.

To stop the abuse of this peace mode system the developer can issue a *Cool down timer* to people just exiting the tribe in order to peacefully solo farm for the tribe. If a player quits the tribe the peace mode won't activate until atleast 168/Hours later, so if he/she goes out in the wild within that time frame he/she is fair game to anyone but, peace mode players and the same applies to peace mode players trying to turn the option on and off just to kill here and there and turn it back on. This system should be stricly for those trying to peacefully play the game up until the point of finding a group of friends to enjoy the game with. Also this peace mode system needs to apply to their base being raided.

It saddens me to the core knowing I bought Rust because the images and videos promoted a community game where we all gather around the camp fire naked with the same adgenda and that's helping each other survive. Rust went from that to a living breathing warzone with no purpose other than to kill anyone and everything on sight without asking any questions. The griefing is beyond phenominal. I love to have battles as much as anyone but, it's not fun being picked on as a solo player and i believe everyone will agree with me on that statement. Every survival game promotes being a survival game but, in reality the only time a survival game is truely a survival game is for solo players trying not to not be killed by large groups of players.
Tell me if i'm lying but, after that first three hours of playing as a group you're not afriad of dehydration, starvation or being too cold or hot all you're worried about is a larger clan wrecking you while you sleep. Nothing kills a game faster than a toxic community not allowing new comers to have a chance at experiecing the full potintial of the game. This is why Rust is gradually dying and these solo players are merging to Ark because it's more to do than to kill on sight dispite that game runs like trash on a high end pc. People rather play a game at the lowest setting posible while only getting 20 FPS than to play a slightly better optimized game that has a toxic KOS community.

The problem with an alignment system is alt characters. People simply create a character to kill people with not caring about their alignment and then they have their main character where they do care.
Most Survival games I know just allow one character per server per account. If this is the case for CE we wont have the problem you described.

I forgot to add more insecure too, lol.

btw, I like the Alignment idea, it would most definitely bring tons of more survival stuff to the game, if done right, if they keep the survival stuff in mind, like is this player who you meet, bad or good? Hes going to kill me or help me? If you find good loot, can you trust him? Yet another survival layer sounds fun. They shouldnt only try to prevent gank/zerg with it, whats inevitably happening when the game launches. Alts are going to be problem but account-wide stuff isnt rare in modern world, so the penalty should hurt all your chars.

That Alignment system is so good example again, why PVP will provide the best of the best survival experiences ever to the players and should not be skipped. Like Raids what last multiple day, raids what last multiple days gives you the best thrill, instead of some hit and run mission while you're away or sleeping.

I was all for having a centeral town that was kinda of a safe space, that was protect by realy strong npc's but that all went out the door when I saw a gaint walking throw walls.The whole point of have a town was so there was a bank in it that would help you store some of your stuff safely.But now this post is pointless sorry for makeing you read it I just really like this idea.Just thought people would care less if there house got blown up as long as they still had a safe place with a couple of thing in it.
If you want all that go play an mmorpg, cause thats pretty much what you described. This is listed as a survival/sandbox game.

Just because a game has a centeral town that doesn't mean it need's to be an mmorpg the point of this form is on how to stop KOS and your house getting blown up every night when you log off. I thougt that a centeral town would stop some of that because there is now a bigger target for these maga guild's to attack and in the early game if some take's all night to chop down your house to kill you and loot all your boxe's you could still walk to the centeral town naked and not start from scrach everyday.
