Also, if you are playing in Singleplayer mode, or on your own private dedicated server, there are admin options to teleport and a run speed multiplier in the Admin Panel.
If you play on your own server or PvE servers, simply make sure that you don't drop your inventory after death in the server settings: thus, you respawn next to your bed with full inventory, essentially a teleporting system. But make sure that you don't violate the server rules by doing so: I've played on servers where the admins had absolutely no problem with this, but I've also seen servers where the removing of the bracelet, for example, as means of teleport was strictly forbidden.
If you're looking for mounts, there is one trick: make sure that you don't drop your inventory after death, undress your character, approach a rhino (doesn't matter which colour, but the black ones are the best for this technique), jump on its back and try to ride it home to your base. I guarantee you, you'll be there in a blink of an eye.
